Alright, so I started the game up today and made it the first dungeon, which I'm dubbing "the jungle" due to the repeating trees in the background. So far I'm liking the game, although I find it amusing that some of the smallest enemies require the most hits to die.
I have a quick question: can you find a sub-weapon before the first boss? I haven't reached the boss yet, but it seems like a sub-weapon would come in really handy, especially to fend off the swarms of birds right outside of its lair. Seriously, I had to warp out of the dungeon three times because of those bastards.

They're in the hub world, right above where you get the first key I believe...

No, I haven't really explored the hub dungeon much, but I'll be sure to look for them, thanks!

And here's the rest of the manual's items section. Fair warning, I do not think this is a complete list.

Huh, I had no idea that's the asurot shield did.

Has anyone entered the super slow-motion dungeon yet? It's cursed, apparently. You have to find the Bible to uncurse. UPDATEHere's a few maps to help newcomers get started. Note that the hub world map shows everywhere you can go by the end of the game. It doesn't show you any particular sequence to follow. HUB WORLD FIRST DUNGEON SECOND DUNGEON

Welp, after an arduous afternoon spent beating the second dungeon's boss, I have five points to surmise. 1: My biggest pain was the lack of inertia if you walk off a platform. You can control your aerial movement if you jump first, but if you just drop off, you plop straight down like a stone. This has messed up my progress more times than I care to recount until it sunk in. 2: If one character dies in the lava (which was the main cause of death in conjunction with the aforementioned platforming problem), the other character RESPAWNS IN THE LAVA?! FFFFFFFFFFFF 3: That blue demon guy right outside the boss gate? He should be called Blue Arremer for how much agony he caused me. He was perhaps more obnoxious than the boss. 4: The boss wasn't too bad, IMO, but that you HAD to have the balloon bombs in advance to destroy it is pretty mean, especially considering that the shop for the weapon is hidden fairly well. The only way out if you come to it without the bombs is... to reset. Yeesh. I'm ashamed to admit I actually lost to it once, and that set me back... like, about eight more playthroughs to recover what I lost. 5: I confess to using savestates, but not to cheat death, merely to reload at the point after I enter a lengthy 32-character password. I still like Galious and believe it's far more lenient than Legacy of the Wizard, but it's already showing its "old-school" colors, and I don't even think I'm halfway through it yet. Better brace meself.

Galious Pro-Tip #1 SECOND DUNGEON MONEY GET!!! 1. Buy the balloon bombs in a shop in this dungeon. You have to anyway. 2. Get the Black Onion, avoid the flying gargoyle right before the boss room. You'll need your health. 3. Beat the boss, "Elohim," and get a life refill from collecting the great key. 4. Choose Venus. Go back outside and immediately set off three balloon bombs. The gargoyle should fly into them and die! He usually drops a very large amount of money. I think it's $50 each time. You can max out your money in no time this way.

Bumping this thread because it hasn't been getting enough love.
I decided to explore the hub world and found both the standard arrows and ceramic arrows, as well as salt to enter Death's room, which is very close to the first dungeon. If one of your characters happens to bite it, you can go there and pay to have them resurrected. The price for doing so is very steep, but I suppose it's better than restarting the game and putting in the long ass password.
After snagging the arrows, I made my way back to the boss of the first dungeon. The ceramic arrows really helped against the swarms of birds, but sadly didn't do anything against the boss. Its pattern was fairly simple, though, and with some patience and timing, I was able to defeat it fairly quickly. However, there is a spot you can stand in where you are completely safe from its attack. I found it purely on accident. If I fight that boss again and manage to find that spot, I'll be sure to take a picture of it!
So far, I'm really enjoying the game. It's a bit simple, but there's enough there to keep it interesting. Sadly, it's not as open as it first appears, but it's still satisfying slowly making your way through the hub world.

Xerxes, as an addendum to your tip above, I found out that one of those purple floating thingies actually gives you $50 every time you kill it also. It's the one found at the upper-right corner of the second dungeon map, the one around where you GET the map, appropriately enough. That might be easier to deal with than the damn blue devil jerkface.

I have it marked on the map, also very close to where you start in the hub dungeon. Easy to get there with the Angel Ring, when you're running low on both health and experience. Stand still the bottom of that screen, and you'll see little floating lights start to appear. Stay still a bit longer and they'll congeal into a fairy. Catch it to refill a character's health. VERY important later.

Oh wow, I didn't know about that! I'll be sure to look out for it later.
I just stumbled into the second dungeon, which is filled with lava and annoying ghosts that look vaguely like Klansmen. It's pretty annoying to navigate, but thankfully some tips from Sotenga have helped me locate some of the more important items. Now I just need to find the balloon bomb and the pure water, and I should be able to take the boss down from there.

Okay, third dungeon cleared! Five more points.
A: I didn't think the third dungeon was as bad as the second for the most part, mostly because it didn't have any lava. Plus, I felt its design was technically less confusing, except...
B: There's a room with what I call a "Zalgo Ball," a medium-sized tangle of black lines that shoots squigglies at you. This thing also gives you $50 every time you kill it, but its pattern of movement is completely random. Anyhoo, keep an eye out for fake walls in this room. It's like Duck Tales' Transylvania level all over again.
C: Even if you get the Pendant, which makes Popolon lose less life in the water, Venus is still the better swimmer. By that token, Popolon is still the better jumper, so while there are items to sort of balance their abilities, they still have at least one unique attribute.
D: Don't let the oar fool you; it only allows you to do the Jesus thing on one lousy body of water in the whole game... albeit it's one necessary to reach the boss. Is there anywhere else where the oar allows you to walk on water?
E: Man, the boss of this dungeon is a BUTTHORN. The key is to find the rolling fire (and hopefully the pure water and magic rod) and to NEVER RELENT. Just keep spamming the fire, though he'll probably shoot out his... projectiles at least once. In which case, retreat to the bottom and spam balloon bombs until the projectiles all blow up. The longer you draw out this fight, the harder it gets.
Alrighty, I take it there's two more dungeons to get through. I might be able to beat it by next week if I'm diligent enough.

Ugh. Fourth dungeon was rather grueling. Five points as per usual.
1: I was told that this dungeon was going to slow me down, but I apparently found the Bible at some point. I only vaguely remember having done so. However, I didn't even know what I needed to ensure that the walking directions weren't reversed (I later found out it was the magicwear). So yeah, I did the entire dungeon where right was left and left was right. Wasn't TOO bad once I got used to it.
2: There weren't many strong enemies, just ones that were really annoying to deal with like those stupid reverse-jumping blobs. Everyone gave pitiful experience in here, making it a real buttpain to get around. I had to exit several times and restore my life elsewhere.
3: The general layout of this dungeon was rather tedious. I fell down several times thanks to all the annoyance enemies, and having to activate the candle EVERY time in those dark areas got irksome. Why not just have to use the candle once and keep them permanently lighted afterwards? It's a bit of a nitpick on my end, but it could have made that part less annoying as all get-out.
4: The two good things I will denote about this dungeon are the awesome Muramasa and Great Shield, which up your dealt damage and reduce your taken damage respectively. Costly, but they were worth every penny... and my money was maxed out at 999 anyway. The Muramasa also destroys an entire row of blocks, something the Saber can apparently do... but I never found the saber. Was I supposed to in the third dungeon?
5: THE BOSS. AAAAAAUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH. It's too bad I didn't have the mines by the time I fought this jerk, so I had to rely on spamming balloon bombs. But if you make ONE mistake, you're forced to stand in his body as your life bleeds out. I had to kill him after he extended the full length and I was only taking minimal damage from the bomb explosions. Even then, Popolon was dead and I had to spend all remaining money on bringing him back. What a cheap turdmonger that dragon was!
Hoo boy. The game's really showing its fangs now. I only have the last dungeon to go (at least I hope it's the last), but... I expect it'll come out in full force to obliterate me. I can deal with it, but I need to check around for items I may have missed the first time around. The mines, for one; I need a way to destroy blocks below me.
