But its battle system is the same as Parasite Eve's. And I loved Parasite Even. Surely the awesome ration is 1:1, no? Not really - if you were to take that whole "freeze time, select enemies in range" thing and add all kinds of overcomplications, then that's Vagrant Story. You can also attack as often as you want (compared to Parasite Eve where you needed to wait a set time) but increases a "risk" meter, which in turn lowers your defense if it gets too high. I'm going to vote on Vagrant Story too. Every few years I try to play this game, considering it's held in very high regard, and every time I end up finding something new to hate about it. Let's see how it goes this time!

I shall stand firm and cast my vote for Jet Force Gemini. Even with all of it's insane collections required.

My write-in is Willow.
If that's not an option, Vagrant Story because I haven't played that either.

My vote's for Druaga. Also, I want in on the podcast.
But yeah, I spent enough time having to watch Ashley Riot prance around in assless chaps back in 2000 to last a lifetime. I'd rather jerk off with chopsticks than deal with the "affinity" system or whatever again.

Vagrant Story seems to be the runaway winner, how boring, you're all cowards!

Fuuuuuuuck. A bunch of people playing Vagrant Story all at once. This is about as sexy as it gets.

Vagrant Story. If all of us are playing together, it's gonna be pretty hilarious.
Also, I have a nagging urge to hit someone in their left thigh, again and again.

Here's where the poll currently stands: - Vagrant Story: 11 votes
- Tower of Druaga: 4 votes
- Jet Force Gemini: 2 votes
Looks like it's Vagrant Story, although I'll be running the poll for another 12 hours so people in different timezones can cast their vote.

Oh God...am I really going to put Batman Arkham City on hold for this? You guys better be ready to list your discoveries! I think I can play this on my PSP on lunch breaks and then import my save file to play it via a PS1 emulator too all being well...

Time to break out my physical copy and jam it on with my PS2.

Since Ralph Nader isn't one of the choices I guess I'll vote for Jet Force Gemini as a protest vote.
Although, honestly, I have wanted to play Vagrant Story so this might be good motivation.

I'm going to vote for Jet Force Gemini. I loved Vagrant Story but it was tough going and I don't really want to play it again.
I couldn't join in the last one because I couldn't get the fan translation to work so gave up.

February's game of the month is Vagrant Story! I'll be updating the first post with some information as well as changing the thread title.

And so began the tale of the wanderer, the vagrant.
Dun-dun-DUN-DUN-da-da-da.
