You only need to forward your ports if you're hosting a game. Otherwise it's peer-to-peer, which means that unlike Kaillera, anyone can host a game and there is no host advantage. It's much easier to set up than Kaillera ever was for me, but I understand if it's not for everyone.

Also I wouldn't describe Biker Mice as a Mario kart clone, since it's an iso-racer. The perspective is different, but the play mechanics are otherwise very similar, due to the player's ability to pick and use items against other racers like in Super Mario Kart. In any case, it definitely meets the criteria of a mascot racer. However, it's probably the only decent game of its genre available on the SNES that doesn't involve Mario and his friends (aside from that Power Rangers Zeo bike racing game) and it's different enough to stand on its own. Rock and Roll Racing :/ (even if the Gen version might be better depending on who you ask).

Sorry, we tried that one. It has an issue where in split-screen, Player 2 is always kind of floating independently of the track.
...That, and we have no clue how to play it, so it would go into our 'Experimental/Weird/What the hell is this tier', anyway. :V Still, if you have any recommendations for our super-secret game list, go for it!
Expect a stream somewhere somewhere between 6 and 8 PM Central Time, depending on how busy I get. I'll post a link when it's getting to be that time.

And that's the end of the stream. Hope everybody who came by had a good time! Voting is now over! Our winners, by a landslide victory, are Ring of Destruction and Arch Rivals!Get to practicing, either through MAMEHub, or with yourself. Here's a movelist. Before you take a look at that, though, here's some basic gameplay help for Ring of Destruction: - It's a five button game. You have two punches, two kicks, and one dedicated grapple button. - You do have 'super' throws, and you can do these at any time. However, you must input the motion RIGHT after you grab somebody. - You can perform a running grapple with any character by hitting QCF+Grapple. - Getting hit a lot will activate a 'rage mode', where you turn red and do more damage. And here's some tips for Arch Rivals: - There's two buttons, Shoot and Pass. - If your teammate has the ball, hit the Shoot button to order them to shoot, or hit Pass to tell them to give it to you. - If you DON'T have the ball, hold Pass to pull your fist back, and release to punch opponents. If they have the ball when you punch them, they'll drop it. You can do this as much as you want. The tournament for Ring of Destruction begins on June 17th. Sign-ups begin when MAMEHub starts working again. Until then, here's a guide on how to get it working. 1. (Optional) Forward port 5805, both TCP and UDP. You don't HAVE to do this, but at least ONE player has to have their ports forwarded, so you might as well do it if you can. 2. Get MAMEHUB and put it somewhere. You're going to want version 0.8. 3. Find the roms for Ring of Destruction and Arch Rivals. I can't tell you where exactly you can find it, but I will tell you you're going to want somewhere that offers MAME 0.144 roms. I forget the exact versions you want, but they're both the ones with the biggest file size. 4. Put the zip file for RoD and Arch Rivals in MAMEHub's ROM folder. Don't extract them. 5. Start MAMEHub, make an account, and log in. 6. Once you're in, select Audit Games from the Options list and make sure your games show up in your list. 7. If you're hosting a game, double click it in your game list. If you're joining a game (make sure it's not occupied first), double click it in the list of online users.

Now that voting is over, feel free to post any strategies you guys find! Arch Rivals should be pretty straightforward, but Ring of Destruction has a bit of depth to it. If you can make videos of strategies you've found, even better.

Beginners tips for RoD: pretty much everybody has a QCF attack. Dashing and doing attacks is a good thing to use because the dashes are very fast and potentially unexpected. It's very much like real wrestling. There are only five buttons, 4 Neo-Geo style and 1 for grappling. Grapples do a lot of damage, so try not to be quick on breaking them.

It seems that MAMEHub has a new version, 2.0, but since it seems a little buggy right now, we're going to be using 0.8. So, be on the look out for that once you download MameHUB.
Also, tip for setting controls for Ring of Destruction: Button 1 is the Grapple button. Button 2 is Weak Punch. Button 3 is Strong Punch. 4 does nothing. 5 is Weak Kick, 6 is Strong Kick. Remember, no matter what player slot you're on, you always use Player 1's controls.
EDIT: Thanks, nature, I really needed a power outage 15 minuets before stream time. Same time tommorow, gents?

The instruction card for Super Muscle Bomber are available in MAME Artwork archive. They're in Japanese, but the commands for every move are given. Moves listed in orange are grappling moves performed while grabbing the opponent (Haggar's Screw Pile Driver and Budo's Keppujin require 360 rotations). mrdo.mameworld.info/mame_artwork_ingame.html?p=12

It's time to sign up for the tournament! Anybody who wants in has until June 17th, Sunday. As in, my June 17th. Those of you who live in distant time zones, subtract a day. We're taking a limit of 16 players, so first-come, first-serve.
The tournament will go on until the 24th, so until then, hang around on MAMEHub, and just be sure to arrange a good time for you and your opponent. Let us know how your matches went, and if you had any particularly cool or embarrassing moments, tell us know how that went, too!
And if you have any questions about how to handle MAMEHub, feel free to ask me or Snarboo.

Count me in, but on one major caveat: I cannot forward ports because my router sucks and will not stick the settings. So if I end up matched against another player that cannot forward ports, then there may need to be some reorganization.

I'm definitely in, natch.
Later today I'll make a post explaining how you can record replays in MAMEHub, and then convert them to avi video files that can be edited and uploaded to youtube.

Due to the nature of Mamehub it's largely impossible to compete for me, I'm only in to fill spaces.
