I listened to this on my morning bus ride, and I agree, this is the best one yet. Damn, I really gotta get involved with some of these!

I'm trying to think of what the bad word censoring sound is from...

Yeah, I like to insert mystery sounds. The little sound at the beginning of "Lingering Questions" is from a different game each show. Free kudos to whoever identifies this one and/or the censor noise.
Also ... those who listened to this one and think it's objectively better than the others (and did not host it), what did you like about this podcast? What do you want us to do more?

Personally, I liked the Deus Ex one more, simply because I think the game itself was more interesting. I really dig the somewhat more rigid Q/A style where Snarboo acts like an actual show host from those more recent episodes. I've skipped a few before that, but compared to the early ones editing has also gotten snappier and better IMHO. (Btw. I think Snarboo has forgotten to introduce himself in those two, could be confusing for first time listeners)
The one thing that remains on my wishlist but I guess can't be helped would be if everyone had about the same microphone quality & volume. I had a bit of trouble understanding X Factor (if I got his name right?) at the beginning, while it was getting easier as the podcast went on (is there a baby crying in the background at times?)

Sadly, that highly depends on everybody having not only enough money to buy a good microphone, but also a quiet environment to record in. In Eksfaktr's case, his recording is done on a USB microphone from Rock Band, and yes, at times you can hear his children in the background, as there is not really a lot of room to get away from them in the apartment he lives in. This is what you get from what is essentially a strictly-amateur production; unless you could manage to scrape together funds to get everybody local and into a proper recording studio (and hire a babysitter).

While I appreciate your honesty, as said above this is an amateur production, and that's kind of a petty criticism. Besides, it adds character. Also Eks is a board member, you could at least show him the respect of looking up his name.

I'd rather this not devolve into drama over a difference of opinion. :/
I understand the mic quality isn't the best, but most podcasts I've listened to have variable mic quality, especially for the guests. At some point I think we can address the mic situation for hosts, but that will depend entirely on whether we can scrape up the money for new equipment.

I know, I just wanted to address that. I think my voice doesn't always come clearly over my mic, so I'm going to buy a condenser mic one of these days.

Sorry about that derboo, that was me being petty and I apologize for that. But I do honestly appreciate you taking the time to listen to the podcasts and tell us a straight, no-b.s. opinion.
I was looking into a better mic (currently using a Logitech headset) but in my case I'm unsure what kinds will work since I'm in an apartment and there's a lot of potential reflective surfaces. I definitely plan on getting a "for reals" one in the future.
I also agree that the Crash Course format is working well!

As far as that goes, I guess I'd better not guest-host anytime soon, since my only working mic at the moment is a webcam that picks up absolutely everything, including my computer fan.

MSPAINT is awesome. Here's a more game accurate cover I suppose. Attachments:

See, now that tells you exactly what you're getting into. But maybe needs a few more little tornados spiraling off of the dude's sword. And then shattering a boulder for some reason.
