There is a reference to Blade Runner in the NES game Street Fighter 2010 (note the building): It's not my find. Here's the source: www.forum.emunes.pl/index.php/topic,3135.0.html

I noticed a couple of typos. In the Silent Hill/Kindergarden Cop section, it has "school boss" instead of "school bus", and in the Metal Gear 2 section it has "Einstein isn't an action movie" instead of "isn't an action movie star" or "isn't from an action movie".

Corrected the funny boss/bus typo, the other is actually an intentionally nonsensical statement, cause the headline says "American Action Movies"... Just wanted to point out that those aren't steps, he's standing on a cog from the clocktower. Ah, that explains some things... Some anonymous poster at the blog apparently felt rather strongly about that. Not that the angles make perfect sense for a cogwheel by any stretch, but... looks like Jackie Chan: Yeah, it's obviously Jackie Chan, but I wanted to find the exact shot and/or the other guy before including it. The Chase HQ one is awesome, though. Thanks for that!

Tiny note - the MG2SS profiles, the one with Snake and Mel Gibson, you can make Snake smoke cirgatettes (like in my avatar) in-game, by equipping the cirgatte item. Makes it look even more similar.
Just want to re-iterate, I really love this article. Well done with the all hard work and amassing all the references from so many different sources. It's a beautiful collection.

You don't happen to have a screenshot with the portrait in original size around, do you?

I don't believe this one is supposed to be George Michael but Morrissey from the Smiths. It makes sense too because of the other goth/depressing other 80's bands referenced. Just my two cents because George Michael has a goatee usually. edit: sorry if someone else covered this, I am kinda busy so I just wanted to chime in real quick.

More Twitter updates: From Derek Yu: Also, I'm pretty sure that "Philip" from Dead Connection is based off of Andy Garcia, who was in The Untouchables and Godfather 3. The character in Tex Murphy - Mean Streets game cover bears a very close resemblance to Val Kilmer. Strikes me since they could use their own actors...

Yeah, that one is a dead ringer for Val Kilmer.
