Heads up! If you don't already have the game from the Indie Royale Halloween bundle a few months back, it has shown up on IndieGala's latest "Flash" bundle. (P.S. The game is also on Desura.) www.indiegala.com

I got this game via Indie Gala (and pretty much for Pathologic alone but getting other games in the deal was definitely nice) but it's cool that GOG has it now.

I was just reading this yesterday and then GOG shows up with it. Not bad.
Looking around it's also on GamersGate, which would have been fine, but kismet is kismet.
EDIT: Ironically not available in Russian! Just English and German, as-stands.

Well, that's exciting. Cue the usual worry: "OMG they're totally going to mess up the formula!" Pathologic is a delicate thing, but the subtle (insane) beauty of the script is a lot less the result of blind chance than some give the game credit for... although I can totally see another translation team going "screw it, prose is out, 5th grade English is in." Well, the first scenario is fine, the third is an unreadable mess from what I remember.
By the way, did any of the fan translation projects actually produce something?

Last I checked all the fan translations fell through. Personally, I like the scripts for the first two scenarios just fine. Do you really think a new translation team will convey the quotes on the character pages? "I need morphine! Is it true that my eyes are like buttons? I feel gripes inside my belly, as if I am filled with straw." / "It is made of clay, bones and blood. It looks like a person full of bones. The Steppe gives birth to it, when the Earth needs a weapon to fulfil the destiny." / "We are afraid of everything, brother, as all mortals are. And, we want everything. As if immortality is granted to us."
"THE CAT KNOWS WHAT MEAT SHE HAS EATEN!"
I'm curious to see how the remake goes - if it adds defining recognisable characteristics to the otherwise identical looking districts that would be good. But I have little faith the team will have the self-belief to make the game as mechanically complex as previously.
I recently bought "Sir, You are Being Hunted" for PC, hoping for a similar experience, but I found it to be utterly dreadful. Just awful and poorly designed, with badly implemented random generation. There's also nothing like Pathologic, apart from maybe Robinson's Requiem... Yes, very curious to see how a remake turns out.
Hopefully this article on HG101 encourages others to take a look at their crowdfunding project.

Yeah, I'm pretty skeptical as well. More Pathological wisdom, courtesy of this site: Bridge to Better Days- We resist our passions not because we are strong, but because they are weak. - The best way to be deceived, is to consider yourself more artful than others. - Even the most reasonable people are reasonable only in insignificant matters. In the significant affairs, the reason usually fails them. - The main thing is not to have time to think. This...is a ticket to paradise. - We are all strong enough to bear a misfortune of the neighbor. - We promise in accordance with our calculations, and we carry out in accordance with our fears. - Happy people are incorrigible. Destiny does not punish them for their sins, and they consequently think themselves innocent. - The world is ruled by destiny and whim. - I have danced all my dances. The show is over. Man, a lot of this stuff is priceless. Everyone is a philosopher in Pathology-town!

More news from the Kickstarter. Not to be confused with the actual remake, the release of an enhanced version of the original is imminent: bug fixes, restored content, and a new translation. And on Steam!

I was actually going to get back to Pathologic any day now (like as soon as tomorrow), I wonder if I should hold out for this enhanced version? The translation is my major hinging point, since like the posters above, I kind of like the weird one!

So what's the verdict on the "Classic HD" version? It's on sale on the Humble Store at the moment.
Should I just wait until the remake is complete now?
