Finally finished Horizon Zero Dawn this month. Really enjoyed it! Need to get into another open world game soon. Plenty to choose from. Just finished moving to Maryland, however, so that cut into gaming. Started up Crackdown and it’s ok so far. Also started Bloodstained Curse of the Moon and burned through the first 3 levels within an hour. Very easy so far. That’s not a bad thing, mind you, I just expected more of a challenge. Maybe it gets harder. I’ll find out I guess

DOA always tries to sell interesting otome guys. You have beefy types, androgyn, the sweet alcoholic, the mystery type, I can change him better type, the exotic type etc. (imagine friendly tongue smiley emoji^^) Yours sincerely Jack Caeylin
If only they put in as much thought and creativity into the guys' costumes as the girls' ;P Also, no more flat-crotched character models in video games, please.

Finished Dragon Quest 8 on 3DS but playing the post game now as I never did it on PS2. Steam rolling the dragovian trials and metal slime grinding is much easier in this version. Really enjoying the game and despite the visual downgrade the quality of life features makes the 3DS version the definitive one.

Fire Emblem: Radiant DawnI finally beat Part 1, lol. I'm a few chapters into Part 2, and this seems interesting. I'm curious to see where the story heads from here :3 I wonder why the Greil Mercenaries disappeared? Quite curious...

X-pert74 I'm just now realizing you're playing two of the most notoriously difficult FE games in a row. Is FE:RD living up to its reputation so far?

X-pert74 I'm just now realizing you're playing two of the most notoriously difficult FE games in a row. Is FE:RD living up to its reputation so far? hahaha It has had some pretty difficult moments that required a few tries for me to get through unscathed, but overall, it seems relatively reasonable - at least from what I've played. At least part of its reputation as a really difficult game has to do with a pretty awful localization decision for the overseas release. Basically... with Path of Radiance, in Japan it had Normal Hard Lunatic as its difficulties. For the North American release of Path of Radiance, Lunatic was removed entirely, with a newly-designed "Easy" difficulty taking its place and bumping the other two difficulties down. So, we got Easy Normal Hard Normal and Hard also had some miscellaneous changes to them in places too, so they weren't quite the same as what Japanese players got. After this, Radiant Dawn came along. In Japan, it had the same thing as Path of Radiance - Normal Hard Lunatic However, when localizing Radiant Dawn for overseas release, Nintendo made the kinda bizarre decision of keeping the same difficulty settings... but renaming them to keep parity with the English version of Path of Radiance. However, this resulted in them basically haphazardly slapping the English naming scheme for Path of Radiance onto the Radiant Dawn difficulties. This resulted in Normal (being renamed "Easy") Hard (being renamed "Normal") Lunatic (being renamed "Hard") Needless to say, a lot of players would pick "Normal", as they expected to have a typical experience with the game, not realizing that what they were actually picking was the Japanese Hard mode. Not that the game is particularly a cakewalk even on Easy/"Normal", but this mess-up on Nintendo's part is pretty largely responsible for Radiant Dawn having the reputation it does of being one of the hardest games in the series. So... yeah. I'm playing it on "Easy" (actually Normal), because I'd rather not make my first experience with the game be totally miserable, haha.

Finished Etrian Odyssey V, the grand finale of the franchise, sort of. It's equally back to the roots as it does expand on previous games, mostly by character creation options. I'm a little torn about it overall. Honestly, I'm still not entirely sure how I ended up owning all five main games, since my relationship with the franchise was always kind of complicated. I was so-so on the first game, I loved the second game, back to so-so on the third, four was fine outside of the over-abundance of FOE-movement-based floor puzzles, and five is back to so-so. At points I was motivated and had fun mindlessly crawling the dungeon, at others I got annoyed of it or was super sick of the FOE-puzzle-gimmicks. Seemed also suprisingly hard at times, but maybe my team composition just sucked.

I knew about that, but I thought that it was still considered as one of the hardest FEs, even on the easiest setting.

Who's excited for Pokémon Sword/Shield? I certainly am, but the starters look a little meh. Grookey (Grass Chimp), Scorbunny (Fire Rabbit) and Sobby (Water Lizard) all look a little bland in my opinion. Going to go with Scorbunny though. I don't think I've ever picked a fire starter before. A little bummed that random battles are returning but also not surprised.
