Played a little bit of A Plague Tale. Man this game is grim! And quite stressful. I can see it becoming frustrating if the first hour is any indication of how the rest of the game is gonna unfold...

S'more Suikoden 2. Man, the little details in this game are really great. There's just so much going on outside of just the main character's storyline. As much as I have issues with the pacing at times the sheer ambition displayed in this game is unquestionable, you can see its influence in many later games like the Trails series and Radiata Stories and the like where there's just a whole world of characters with their own schedules.
One note--I think the PSP/Vita port (which I am playing) may have some minor emulation issues. A few of the spells seem to make the game suffer slowdown and one battle in particular had a brief spell of sound stuttering.

I just bought Ion Fury on Steam (previously known as Ion Maiden; they had to change the name due to Iron Maiden's legal team being shitty asshole butts. bah). It rises in price to $24.99 on July 18th; if you buy it before then, you can get it for $19.99, so I decided to get it now, since I'm planning on playing it around launch anyways. It'll be neat to play a cool classic-style FPS when it arrives August 15 :3

Really,Sega? A Gamecube port of SMB 1 and 2 would be better than this stupid remaster. Who wants their Monkey Ball games to have guard rails and a jump button?

So it looks like the Dragon Quest Hero is dropping in Smash this month.

Sega...why? Surely they get that Banana Blitz didn't sell well because of its quality but because it was a Wii launch title. I'd imagine a remaster of Super Monkey Ball Deluxe would do a lot better. Ah well, it's not like SMB1/2/DX are that expensive second hand anyway. I just bought Ion Fury on Steam (previously known as Ion Maiden; they had to change the name due to Iron Maiden's legal team being shitty asshole butts. bah). I wonder how much the band actually had to do with that. I just can't imagine anyone but a dusty lawyer going after something stupid like that. So it looks like the Dragon Quest Hero is dropping in Smash this month. They've since updated it to 'summer', sadly. Still hopeful for a surprise drop at the end of this month, though. Then again, they have to space them out until February somehow...

Ninja Warriors Once Again
...
I can't believe how much they managed to add to an already outstanding game: Widescreen, tons of moves and animation frames, much more detailed backgrounds, two delightfully ridiculous looking playable characters, (reworked) enemies, a two player mode, Zuntata music... and red blood!!! If they don't mess up the game's balance or something this is going to be THE brawler for me.

Interesting new character design for Ninja Warriors. What foolish soldier dares to think they can take on that gigantic Raiden with a little knife, let alone, their bare hands?

Interesting new character design for Ninja Warriors. What foolish soldier dares to think they can take on that gigantic Raiden with a little knife, let alone, their bare hands? It'll be interesting to see how the devs manage to not make him too overpowered - I'm going to assume he can't avoid taking hits so easily due to his size. And I do hope we'll still be able to throw XL-enemies like the redesigned first boss, especially with the normal-sized playable characters! Tossing around oversized foes with a smaller avatar feels just so satisfying in beat 'em ups and fighting games.
There's no PC version announced yet, but sooner or later it'll arrive, I'm sure. (Keeping my fingers crossed, because I don't own a current gen console.)
