Finished Suikoden 2...finally after all these years.
I didn't get the "best" ending though. The parameters for this game's outcomes seem a lot more particular than Suikoden 1 actually, which I seem to recall hearing the opposite of many years ago. It seems much easier to miss stuff in Suiko 2 than any other Suikoden game.
And yet...I did feel like the "not so happy" ending in Suikoden 2 is somehow the most appropriate to the story.

I'm the same. The happy ending is just too clean cut. The whole game is about war and how it destroys people's lives and tears them apart. The normal ending brings the saga to a very thematically fitting end. The good ending while no where near as bad as game of thrones feels a but like it where a very dark story has a happily ever after end.
I missed the requirements for Clive when I played but I think getting that normal ending was the better one to get. Suikoden 2 was my favourite game ever for a long time and really affected me.

Yeah for sure. I don't know that having gone through what they did, that Riou would have or should have "forgiven" Jowy. I do feel that deciding to go meet Jowy one more time at their "special" place is appropriate, though, since you can choose not to go (or just forget to do it). I'm ambivalent on the Nanami stuff, I can take it or leave it but the "bad" outcome for her does seem relevant to the protagonist's coming of age.

As far as Smash clones go, is Brawlout worth looking into?

Checked my favorite used game store and got my hands on The Granstream Saga, finally. I have the first three games of the series (Soulblazer, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma (through emulation,)) now I have all the games. Also got Omega Boost and a controller.

heh, I watched that right as it was linked in FEH's notice board I think the most interesting thing there for me is learning how Idunn's name is pronounced; I should start watching these videos more often, so that I can learn how to pronounce the names of certain characters. (Fire Emblem names can be pretty tough to interpret at times)

Rented Tetris Effect, I love it and all but how do you unlock avatars? I looked it up about some challenge events but is that really the only way? What does leveling up do?

After two years, Splatoon 2's splatfests came to an end last weekend. I know there's probably not that many people here who play Splatoon, but it was so exciting to have all the updates, splatfests and new additions over the last two years. They did a really good job on getting me to come back to the game time after time (which is why I ended up playing it for ~675 hours since launch). It's kind of sad that it's all coming to an end now. There's a lot of content I'll never get to see again (unless they bring some of it back for Splatoon 3), and the game was always the most fun during Splatfests for me. Plus, the final fest was a truly epic ending to the fests.
I'll continue playing the game from time to time of course, but it's the end of an era, for sure.

So today is the start of Quakecon, the supposedly all Quake (and Doom) convention. I have no problem with Doom Eternal or Wolfenstein:Youngblood being there. I do, however have a problem with Elder Scrolls Online being there. I don't care if Bethesda owns Id Software, Elder Scrolls is very out of place at QUAKEcon! It's the same problem I have with Marvel and Star Wars lands being added to Disneyland.

Speaking of Doom, the first three games apparently have a surprise Switch release today! They're listed with a release of today on the Nintendo UK site but nothing on the US site, so maybe they just wanted to throw it up before heading out for the day even if it hasn't been officially announced yet.
Edit: Now it's official and for Switch, PS4 and Xb1. Someone at Nintendo UK was certainly a little antsy.
