This is meant to be a general discussion topic about classic arcade style games. I would best describe these games as games where you have a generaly screen sized room where you have a goal to complete and then move on to yet again a generaly screen sized room and do that same thing again. This can mean Pac-Man, Bomberman or whatever, regardless of when it was made or whether or not it was a arcade game. I am VERY fond of puzzle games, but I am not talking about that genre. Somebody can start a puzzle game topic if they would like to dicuss that genre.
I am trying to find as many of these games as possible for NES/Famicom and SNES/SFC. As well as any good actual arcade games I might have missed out on. All recommendations for NES/Famicom and SNES/SFC, regardless of quality, and any good arcade games would be appreciated. Again, I am not talking about puzzle games.

Games for SNES/SFC that I have found:
Super Bomberman 1-5 ~ All masterpieces. I probably do not have to tell anybody about this series. These are my favorite Bomberman games and all must plays. Bakuto Dochers ~ Very good combative game where you control farm animals in a Bomberman like playing field but that plays differently from Bomberman. There are always multiple characters regardless of how many people are playing and the computer will control the rest. You have to shoot a projectile at you opponents a certain amount of times to defeat them and the last left wins. The playing field has items that will afect your character and your projectiles to make it more interesting. Very recommended if you like these kinds or games. William's Arcade's Greatest Hits ~ Has Joust and Robotron: 2084 and three other games. Most people here are probably familiar with these, but if you have not played Robotron: 2084 I would HIGHLY recommend that you do so. I cconsider it as good as video games get. Mr. Do ~ Port of the arcade game. Ok. Coron Land ~ Move your character around the screen, shoot enemies with a bubble gun that encases them in a bubble, whip the bubble at a wall or enemy to defeat them, grab fruit quickly for points after beating a level. Has interesting changes like ice floors or other obstacles after a few levels. Challenging and good game. Cacoma Knight ~ Qix clone that I like better than Qix. Recommended. Chibi Maruko Chan - Mezase Minami no Island ~ Three short games that play excellently. Recommended. By Konami. Wedding Peach ~ Mini game based game that I enjoy. Definently worth emulating. Gan Gan Ganchan ~ Interesting game worth emulating. Kingyo Chuiho Tobidase! Game Gakuen ~ Enjoyable mini game based game like Wedding Peach. Otoboke Ninja Colosseum ~ Blatent Bomberman clone. More a curiosity than anything else. Out to Lunch ~ Kind of a acrade style "platformer", though you are given much more than a screen sized area. Playable and perhaps worth emulating if you like arcade style "platformers". Panic in Nakayoshi World ~ Seems to be a Sailor Moon themed game. Shoot blocks and collect what they leave behind while avoiding or shooting enemies. Decent amount of variation for level to level and a good game. Q-bert 3 ~ Probably everybody is familiar with the original. This is exactly like that, but I like this slighly better. William's Acrade's Greatest Hits - The Atari Collection 1 ~ Has Battlezone, Asteroids, Breakout, Missle Command, Centipede, and Atari's best game by a mile Tempest. Okish collection. Sugoi Hebereke ~ Kind of a primitive Smash Bros., but not in a good way. Super Smash T.V. ~ Port of the arcade game with difficulty setting and cheat codes. I probably do not have to tell anybody about this game, but if you have not played this game do so immediately. This is as good as video games get. Super Tekyu Fight ~ MASTERPIECE. PLAY THIS GAME. Choose a mech from Gundam, Ultraman, Kamen Rider or some other guy and eleminate all enemies from the screen with a power-upable ball and chain and parts of the level that can be taken advantage of to defeat the enemy characters. Good variation from level to level and quality. Part of the hit or miss Battle series. Sanrio World Smash Ball ~ Iffy choice genre wise. POSSIBLY BEST VIDEO GAME EVER. I am not joking and that is not a exageration. PLAY THIS GAME. Made by Character Soft. A very obscure developer that made about a dozen Hello Kitty games which were ok to excellent. Heisei Inu Monogatari Bow - Pop'n Smash!! ~ Iffy choice genre wise. Blatent inferior clone of Sanrio World Smash Ball that is worth emulating.

Games for NES/Famicom that I have found:
Balloon Fight ~ Port of Nintendo classic arcade game that is really just a supierior Joust clone. I really like this game. Battle City ~ Control a tank to defend a flag at from other tanks. Ok. Bomberman 1 & 2 ~ Again, everybody is familiar with these. Bubble Bobble 1 & 2 ~ Also probably do not have to tell anybody about these. Dig Dug 1 & 2 ~ First game is ok. I am not really into it's sequel. Chack 'n Pop ~ Okish predesesor to Bubble Bobble. Clu Clu Land ~ Strange ok old Nintendo game. Don Doko Don 1 & 2 ~ Taito game that plays like Bubble Bobble. Hello Kitty no Ohanabatake ~ Kind of iffy choice genre wise. A excellent, but too easy game. Keroppi to Keroriinu no Splash Bomb! ~ Blatent Bomberman clone. More a curiosity than anything else. Mappy ~ Very good Namco made arcade style "platformer". Mappy Land ~ Even better sequel to Mappy. Millipede ~ Not my kind of thing but ok. Sequel to Centipede. Ninja Taro ~ Very obscure arcade style "platformer"/action game. Good game. Very worth giving a chance. Parasol Stars - The Story of Bubble Bobble 3 ~ A Bubble Bobble game. Pooyan ~ Awesome interesting Konami game that is a classic in Japan. Recommended. Sanrio Cup - Pon Pon Volley ~ Iffy choice genre wise. A combination of volleyball and tennis. Very good. Recommended.

Good arcade games of this style that I have found:
Berzerk ~ Masterpiece. Among my favorite games ever. Move a stick man around a maze shooting robots. Has video gaming's most intimidating enemy ever. Evil Otto. A bouncing smiling face, that can not be destroyed, that will come after your character if you take too long to finish a maze and can move through walls. Contact with walls will kill your character and keeping down shoot will allow you to shoot wherever your character is facing because you can not shoot while moving. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, but it's difficulty does not reduce quality. Frenzy ~ Sequel to Berzerk. Walls reflect shots or can be shot through and Evil Otto can be killed, but he comes back. Just as good as Berzerk. Bounty ~ Playable, but not recommended, pirate ship themed game. Bullfight ~ Dodge a bull and try to stab a dot on it's back when it passes your character. Very difficult, but excellent and very recommended game. Sega game if I remember correctly. Do Run Run ~ Worth emulating sequel to Mr Do. Hopping Mappy ~ Worth emulating sequel to Mappy. Mr Do's Castle ~ Okish sequel to Mr Do. Mr Do's Wild Ride ~ Playable sequel to Mr Do. Joust 2 - Survival of the Fittest ~ Playable sequel to Joust. Libble Rabble ~ Among video gaming's strangest games ever gameplay wise. Control two things connected with a elastic thread and move them around pegs to connect it to eliminate whatever was in that area while avoiding enemies. Worth playing if just to see what I am talking about. Designed by that guy who designed Pac-Man. Pengo ~ Excellent Sega game which has a port/remake/sequel for Genesis. Make a Peguin defeat all enemies by kicking blocks of ice. Very difficult, but very good game. Pirate Ship Higemaru ~ Awesome pirate themed Capcom game. Make a sailor/pirate defeat pirates by mowing them down with barrels. Pirate Treasure ~ Playable pirate ship themed game. Get a pirate ship to treasure before a computer pirate ship does without crashing. Plumb Pop ~ Odd difficult Breakout clone. Qix ~ Classic arcade game where you connect a trail to eliminate sections of a level. Good game. Super Qix ~ Sequel to Qix. Super Locomotive ~ Playable, but not recommended train themed game that is extremely difficult.

Super Pang on the SNES is a very, very arcadey game in my opinion. Which...is pretty obvious it being based on Pang heh... Dig those cheesy backgrounds!

Fire Striker for those of you who have wondered
"I wonder what would happen if Enix made a breakout game" It's for the SNES and can be found by searching through my topics i've started for one of the three games topics.

So many (great) single-screen action & puzzle games and not a single mention of the Adventures of Lolo series. Blasphemy. Great games for the NES.
Also neglected ( I think) is Kickle Cubicle... or however it's spelled.
