or a log? Whenever you buy a game you write down on the PC or paper by hand what you bought, from whom, when, price and any side stories that are interesting pertaining to that game being purchased?
I keep one. I regret not keeping one for Saturn back in 2001-2005 when I was a Saturn manwhore. I bought over 350 games and it would have been great fun to look back now and see all the craziness.
Thankfully, when I got back into SNES this past January, I knew better and was determined to keep a gaming tab. The key is to simply start, as that is often the hardest part. I intended to keep an NES/GEN log as well, but simply never started it and once the months piled on I was like "forget it."
My SNES log is really thick and one of these days I'll look 'em over and add up the prices, etc. I may have missed out on Saturn but, I'm glad I made up for it with this now.

I think this is a neat idea. I don't keep logs on anything, though I do have a DVD collection program I use to catalog all my movies. When I was collecting NES games a couple years back I kept a gameplay log where I would write down passwords, hints, time spent playing, etc. It was pretty fun and reminded me of playing NES games back in when I was a kid and there were no FAQs around.

I keep a log similar to that. I record when I bought it and the price, and when I finish that game (if I get that far).

Definitely. I too keep a gameplay log for passwords, hints, brief impressions, even a review system so I can write reviews later online. (it's easy to forget specific ratings for sound, gameplay, etc. 3 months later) I also write down the dates and times I play. It's a little bit extra work obviously compared to just firing up a game and playing, but it's a part of the "archive" type stuff that I love so much. 2, 3 years from now it'll be fun to read back on.

I don't...I do keep all my reciepts for games, and even price tags and so on (just so I can laugh about how cheaply I bought stuff, or remind myself not to buy things in stores).

Nope.
Not as far as how much I pay. I just keep a list of my collection, although I imagine keeping a log of that kind could prove to be useful.
