Haircute, would you be up to the task of doing Sakura Taisen? You seem pretty familiar with the series. I'd love to write an article but it'd be a HUGE undertaking. ST is such a massive franchise that it is a little intimidating. Besides, the wikipedia article is pretty damn perfect. I'd like to do an article on Lunar Wing, however! It'll give me an excuse to play through the game again at least.

I recently found a SFC farming game. I figured I would try to find others because this was a strange theme. These are what I found that are emulatable.
Oraga Land Shusai - Best Farmer Shuukaku-Sai (SFC): Arcade style farming game. Very strange that a game like this exists. Actualy a ok game. Harvest Moon (SNES): Simulation? Rpg? Regardless this is ok. Harvest Moon GBC (GBC): Sequel to above. Harvest Moon GBC 2 (GBC): Sequel to above. Harvest Moon GBC 3 (GBC): Sequel to above.

I played the SNES one to death and the PSone one a bit, there's a charm in them (espcically the older ones I think) which give it a very relaxing vibe, I can totally understand why they're popular though.

The SNES one is a classic, up there with the best games ever made. It all fits so well, the realaxing mood, the beautiful music, the changing of weather and seasons.... Are the sequels worth playing? I have my eye on the PS2 version, but I'm afraid to buy it in fear of dissapointment. And how is Harvest Fishing?

I just found out about cooking games. I had no clue that these existed even though Cooking Mama has been released outside of Japan. I decided to look into this genre. These are emulatable cooking games that I found.
Motoko-chan no Wonder Kitchen (SFC) Bistro Recipe - Best Garum Version (GBC) Bistro Recipe - Food Battle Version (GBC) Hitoride Dekirumon - Cooking Densetsu (GB) Nakayoshi Cooking Series - Oishii Pan Yasan (GBC) Oishii Cake Okusan (GBC)
I have no clue how to play these.
I also found a other fire fighting game called Matchbox - Emergency Patrol (GBC) and a construction game called Caterpillar Construction Zone (GBC). I also found these sports games:
Best of the Best - Championship Karate (SNES) International Cricket (NES) Super International Cricket (SNES) Shane Warne Cricket (Genesis) Brian Lara Cricket (Genesis) Brian Lara Cricket 96 (Genesis) Kick Boxing (GB) Super Kick Boxing (SNES) KickBall (PCE)
I have not played any of these.

Just found a AWESOME oozumou game for Famicom called Sendai no Tomio no Daiginnan. Highly recommended.

Never tried harvest fishing but the sequels to harvest moon tend to be hit and miss, they get somethings right and other things not, I think they lose a certain appeal because they stopped being sprite based and feel a bit more manufactured. The play mechanics themselves are resonably well done though and I believe the various festivals and events are more indepth. And zzz, what is oozumou?

Oozumou is mistakenly called sumo wrestling outside of Japan. It is actualy called oozumou and is nothing like it is portrayed in movies or television. It also makes AMAZING video games. They have elements that are kind of like fighting games or wrestling games. Each oozumou game has different controls and all of which control differently than any other genre, so they can be intimidating if you do not have somebody to explain their controls to you. I have yet to find a faq for any oozumou game, so I have had to figure out these games' controls by myself. I mentioned several games previously in this topic. Those games being:
For Famicom:
SD Battle Oozumou Terao no Dosukoi Oozumou
For SFC
Super Oozumou Netsusen Dai-Ichiban Tsuppari Oozumou: Risshin Shussehen Wakataka Oozumou Oozumou Tamashii
There is also a arcade game called Syusse Oozumou and a Genesis game called Aah! Harimanada. I just found out about Sendai no Tomio no Daiginnan for Famicom. All of these besides that arcade game and Genesis game are excellent, but those are still ok.

I was looking into virtual pet games and all I really found was Wonder Project J for SFC. Actualy decent for what it is.
I also never really mentioned anything about pinball games. For anybody looking to get into pinball games, I would recommend starting with Battle Pinball (SFC), Super Pinball (SNES) and Super Pinball 2 (SFC). From there Demon's Crush (TG-16 or Genesis), Alien Crush (TG-16) and Jakai Hidai (spelling?) (SFC) are pretty good. Kirby Pinball (GB) is also very recommended. Super Robot Pinball and a few others for GBC are pretty good too. Sonic Spinball for Genesis is a pretty good game. You could also try PinMAME, but I have no clue how to do that.

I don't think I would put the Wonder Project J series in the same category as Tamagotchi. o_O

Well, officially, Enix labeled both Wonder Project J games as being "Communication Adventure" games. Seems fitting to me, but it is kind of vague. I also hear the terms "raising sims" and "bring-up sims" thrown around.
The main problem is that there is no definitive term for games like Wonder Project J. I don't know if there's a widely used term in Japan, but in the West, the games tend to be so obscure to begin with that no genre name has really been set in stone.

I forgot a few pinball games. High Speed for NES, and Pin*Bot for NES, which are translations of actual pinball tables. High Speed had a sequel call Getaway, which was translated to GB, but it was not as good as High Speed for NES.
