I remember getting this game sometime in febuary with Crystalis (GBC), Sudeki, and RPG Maker. I got Boktai for free because it was a Buy 2 for $9.99 get anothe game $9.99. I remember the only reason I got is was because I thought that the fact that you had to use a solar sensor to play the game was awesome. And it was, every one else I ask if they like it says its a gay idea that you use a solar sensor and think they are cool because they think its a baby game, but personaly I find this game badass. I love how Kojima added some MGS style stealth in it. Its seriously a great game. So far I havent been able to play the 2nd one but I need to get it because I have a felling this game is going to be rare. I also cant wait till Lunar Knights comes out, thats one of the reasons I want a DS. Has any one else played this classic GBA gem?

The game isn't rare at all, the game complete with the box and manual/etc. though is another story.
I hated it when I first got it but it really grew on me over time. The second one lacks the slightly more gothic feel of the original but I like the "town" hub and the mazes around it that leads to the various dungeons.

I decided not to get it since the idea of only being able to effectively play through a game on a sunny day was not that appealing to me.

I never said it was rare, I said I have a felling it will, meaning in a few years.

Bought the game about a year ago, played it for a while, then stopped for months, and eventually sold it. The idea of using real sun light was pretty neat at first, but it didn't made the game interesting enough for me to finish it. I probably won't never buy Boktai 2.

I bought it when I was working 2 full-time jobs... and, of course, could rarely play it in actual sunlight (if I had a day off, I slept or spent it with my girl). Killed some of the fun, as you can imagine.

I never said it was rare, I said I have a felling it will, meaning in a few years. I'm so awesome my words transcend time. For those that didn't find the game compelling, start playing about an hour before sundown. Then the boss fight becomes extremely intense. Only game that ever resulted in me standing on the raised deck behind my house as the sun sets screaming "NOOOO!" at the top of my lungs while holding the GBA up high. I'm really looking forward to Lunar Knights as well. From what they said, it won't have a solar sensor by default, but the game is designed to use the sensor in either Boktai GBA game if you put that in the GBA port of the DS.
