Since we've got about 20 appreciation threads (19 in the last five minutes) for every G-rated company out there, how about some love for our favorite Nihongo (that's Japanese for "Japanese") bishoujou gemu (that's Japanese for "beautiful girls games"), or as they are known in the vulgar sense, "fuck games."
Dragon Knight was a true innovator in the field of bishoujou gemu. No longer did you have to play your console rpg, then have to go load up a VHS of your favorite AV Idols (that's Japanese for "porn star") and masturbate separately; no - ELF-dono saw the elegance of combining beautiful jousei (that's Japanese for "girls") with RPGs. The result was a game series where you could go on an adventure and then strip clothes from monster girls. The only downside is that ELF did not invent a zaman (that's Japanese for "splooge")-resistant keyboard!
Isaku was another bold innovation. Who thought that survival horror and bishoujou gemu could go hand in hand? The concept of trying to protect a group of schoolgirls from a rape-crazy janitor, and failing to do so, being forced to watch videotapes of them engaging in BDSM and rape was sublime.
Please share your thoughts on this wonderful company!!!
EDIT: Changed the topic title so we can actually, seriously talk about hentai games since the subject of the joke had been dealt with.

Rapelay or GTFO!
(Ihe reason why they called it that is because of Axeley, isn't it? Bastards. (not that Axelay was that great). *flees*.

I've actually been trying to win a copy of Dragon Knight 4 for PC-FX at a reasonable price lately, haha.

I've actually been trying to win a copy of Dragon Knight 4 for PC-FX at a reasonable price lately, haha. How much is it? It's about $6 on suruga-ya (sorry, not to keep parroting that site). I'll probably be making another purchase in a month or so, I can pick up a copy and we can even up.

I've been trying to get a copy for $15 shipped, maybe $20 shipped at the most, but I've been just barely getting outbid. How do Westerners buy from that Suruga-ya, anyway? I took a look at it before, but I couldn't make heads or tails out of it. Do they ship internationally, or do people use a middleman service with them? Some of the prices on PC-FX stuff are pretty good, but if a middleman and/or EMS shipping is required, it'd probably come out just the same or higher than with eBay (I always go with SAL shipping for my eBay purchases).

Yeah you need to have a Japanese address to mail to so you need to use a mailing service or something along those lines. Unless I'm buying something along the lines of 10 or 20 games and or something from Amazon I don't bother. Even then it can be pricy (but at that point still a lot cheaper than eBay). I use tenso, which Kurt told me about along with suruga-ya- its pretty decent, but now requires you to submit your ID for some reason. IIRC Kurt was trying out a different service but I'm not sure how that one is on account of my failed anti-sketu crusade. You should ask him.
At any rate let me know if you're interested and can wait a month or so - I'll just charge for the game and shipping to you within the US once I get the package. I'm definitely doing a shipment in September to get the rest of my Jojo Blu Rays at least.

This is what I use nowadays: www.biginjap.com/The way they function is a little weird, since you tell them what you've shipped to them before they actually get it. Then, when they receive it, they send you a shipping invoice. It's a blanket 500 yen fee, and they will do SAL, though I've only done EMS. They seem less professional than Tenso but I've used them about half a dozen times without any issue, so I can vouch for them.

If they hold packages and/or combine shipments, 500 yen is extra great. Rinkya is a beast when it comes to fees, btw, Succubus. "On Topic" and serious this time, I really loved Knights of Xentar, the English release of Dragon Knight III. It wasn't a AAA RPG, but it was a lot of fun and certainly very good considering it's a hentai game. It'd be nice to see more porno games like this or Sengoku Rance/Rance Quest that had serviceable games attached to the fuck scenes.

Knights of Xentar (the censored Western, German-dubbed version) was my first eroge, unless you count Leisure Suit Larry VI... turns out it also was the only one I ever bought (unless you count Leisure Suit Larry VI or VII; never would call any of the earlier ones "erotic" games). It really was kinda neat. Although I wasn't too fond of the semi-automatic combat at the time, I actually prefer it to the slow menu based battles in most JRPGs now.

I already had enough reason to dislike Japanese culture before looking into it's porn. After looking at the porn, I see no reason not to bomb them again.
Discuss.

Yeah, the battle system was really, really weird. I didn't care for it much at first but it grew on me. I didn't play much of the PC Engine version but the standard battle system (kinda reminded me of Vay) was boring by comparison. I'm curious about the extent of censorship in the German version versus the censored (off the shelf) version in the US - you basically knew something was going on, but everyone had (most of) their clothes on. Being a kid at the time that I bought it I couldn't get the "adult" patch legally - I didn't get to see the uncensored stuff until a couple years later (someone posted a crack for it on this one fansite). In response to Dooz, are you Korean?
