There are some moments in my life that have tied certain games (or even parts of games) into other events going on at the same time...a few examples...
Every time I play Shenmue, I have this irresistable urge to eat tortilla chips.
When I play stage 8 of Turok for N64, for some reason my brain is filled with sound effects and speech clips from the PC game "Pacific Strike." Specifically, Jester shouting, "EEEEyaah! Go to hell, Jojo--hey, what's wrong with you?!"
And whenever I play a new Metal Gear game, I'm always on the lookout for any time that Snake says "...Metal Gear?!" He's done this is practically every MG game that he's given a voice (presumably since MGS1, since his lines in the first two MG games mostly consisted of "This is Solid Snake. Please respond.")
Does anybody have any similar experiences? Or am I alone in always craving chips while adventuring through Shenmue?

I crave root beer and spicy salami sticks when I play shenmue because that was all their was to eat when I first moved into my new house and the only game I had on hand to play was shenmue.
I also get heavy nostalgic feeling from playing Sonic2 or Double Dragon2 the Revenge just because they are two games that got me into video games in general.
I also crave Lasangia when I play RE4 becuase that is what I happen to have eaten on a day really started getting into the game.
I also smell pumpkin and candy while playing Vulgus because the first time I played Capcom Classics Collection was during halloween.

The song "The Shelf in the Room" from Days of the New always gets in my head every time I play Warcraft 2, because when I first played that game (which was around 4 or 5 hours of playing non-stop) the radio station kept playing that song over and over.

Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES - the reminder of soggy cornflakes will always be with me Silent Hill : The room - I can't help but think of that game every time I hear "Spell" off Nick Caves "The Lyre of Orpheus", mainly because I was listening to that album whilst watching me then ladyfriend play through that game.

There are several games that I associate with my birthday or other holidays.
Mortal Kombat 2 and Secret of Mana for my birthday. MK II came out right before my 10th birthday, I didn't want to get it for my birthday, but I knew it would be awesome at my party, so I rented it for my SNES. My friend had a Genesis and MKII so I had him bring that over for my birthday as well. We had two TVs with MK II going and 13 kids in there fighting over the controllers and the Gamepro that had a moves list in it. Good times.
I also got Secret of Mana for that birthday which was awesome because I had wanted that game for over a year.
Also that year, I remember being super hyped for DKC. A lot of people hate it, but I've got a soft spot for that game. I actually had no interest in the game until I got that promotional tape from NP and saw how good it looked in motion. Sadly, getting gifts at Christmas never lived up to the incredible anticipation I had for it...

Final Fantasy 7 - i remember wanting this game when my friends wouldn't stop talking about it. After placing in the North Jersey spelling bee finals, i convinced my mom to let me have one. That night i did nothing but play that game and drink pepsi. So i guess whenever i find myself playing that game, i crave a can.
Lunar SSSC - i remember doing nothing but play this game for a week straight (i was 13 at the time, still pathetic, but not on the same level as some WOW players). Whenever i look at the box, i remember how i basically took a job caddying just to get the game. As soon as i bought it, i quit and haven't been back to that course since.
Silent Hill 2 - the whole silent hill series has given me a good share of memories, but the most recent is the most fun to tell. At the time i was living in the Bronx, right next to my college (Fordham). I decided i was finally gonna beat SH2, having played most of it a long time ago and sorta lost track of it. As soon as i walk into the apartment where the infamous Pyramid Head scene happens (where he rapes the mannequin), my roommate has his friend and his friend's mother over to see the apartment. The TV i was using was big, and the volume was audible, and there i sat in a cold sweat. I remember praying they didn't turn around and see some freaky monster pretend-humping a mannequin in a quite unsettling representation of rape. They never did, but when they started talking to me, i couldn't quite look them in the eye.
