Fortified Zone and Operation Logic Bomb. Voting ended on Sunday October 6th at 10:30 PM EST. If nothing else, the people who voted for D64 should cast the tie-breaker.

The vote keeps going until a tie-breaker vote is cast, it's been that way since the first tie, which I think was the month that GC9X covered King's Quest V? I didn't update the time in the first post because I'm lazy. Edit:I completely forgot about the twitter runoff poll xerxes created. Had the tie breaking vote not been cast so early, it looks like Saga would have won. Kinda wish that would have been posted about in the thread first, but whatever.

Hmm, looks like you all still get enough time to play Saga Frontier tomorrow when everyone's finished with the double bill. Just breezed through Fortified Zone without any obstacles to speak of (aside from unfair hit detection), and unless Operation Logic Bomb is significantly larger, this will be a very, very short GC9X...

The tie maker vote happened before the deadline, so the tie breaker can happen whenever it wants.
Anyone on the second stage of FZ, avoid the bottom right room. It's just a trap full of floating mines that doesn't serve any purpose as far as I know.

So I played the first two stages yesterday before putting the game into Sleep mode. For anyone else picking this up on 3DS, remember that the manual is actually included (just press Home then select it from the choices). One thing that may not be immediately obvious is how medpacks work. If you pick one up, you get healed, if you have full health, you carry it around instead. If you die with a carried medpack, it insta-heals you. If you die without and switch characters, you can revive the other character as long as you are able to pick up and "carry" a new medpack. When you switch back, it uses the medpack and revives the character.
This also means that carried medpacks are almost always better than using directly. If you have one character at full health, it may be worth switching just to pick up the medpack and get maximum use from it.
Also, if you have full special weapon ammo when you pick up one of the ammo refills (large bullet icon), you can stash those too.
Minor tip for Stage 3: keep a look out for oddly-shaded walls, or walls without shadows. There are a few secret walls on this level.

[...]unless Operation Logic Bomb is significantly larger, this will be a very, very short GC9X... It seems longer so far just based on what I've played of it, but there's no save/password system in this one so it's probably meant to be finished in a single sitting. That said, the cutscenes in the game move so slow that I almost have time to get up and get a sandwich in between action scenes. I'm thinking I may need to beat this game soon, I'm running out of sandwiches and my stomach hurts. Edit: With all the talk about the vote being mis-cast, miscounted, etc., maybe I should hold off on trying to finish Logic Bomb for right now?

The final tally has left OLB in the lead, do not fear.

So wait, did the Twitter votes count or not? I was told they would've put SF in the lead.

Saga Frontier and Logic Bomb ended up tying, and because Logic Bomb had 1 more vote in the thread, it won again by a single vote.
We've discussed the vote and have a solution for the next thread so this doesn't happen again.

Well, even if these games wind up being really short, I think the gc9x team could use an easy one as a break, right?

I think I'll upgrade my participation to a triple bill and play InY2 before OLB.

I think I'll upgrade my participation to a triple bill and play InY2 before OLB. I like this plan and could be persuaded to take part. Is it text heavy at all, or pretty easy to pick up like the other two? I've noticed neither FZ or Logic Bomb really have a lot of text (if any at all) in game, and the mechanics are pretty straightforward.

I'm guessing right now that it has about as much text as FZ, which is practically nothing.
