For the record, I must state: I thought Gene Wilder died YEARS ago. Dude was so under the radar.

Speaking of celebrities you thought were dead I found out that actress Angela Lansbury, best known for staring in Murder, She Wrote, some months ago was still alive. She's at least 90 years old know and seems to do theater these days.

Two days ago, Italian playwright, actor, all-around artist and modern jester Dario Fo passed away. He was 90 and worked up until 2 weeks before his demise. He was a controversial figure for political reasons but still a very prolific and respected artist.
Bizarrely, he received a very contested Nobel prize for Literature in 1997 and passed away the same day another contested Nobel prize for Literature was awarded, the one to Bob Dylan.

Gotta say I always dug Murder She Wrote, so good on her for still acting.
I'm not gonna watch the rest of that video above, though.

"Very contested" is putting it mildly. I remember a lot of people back then fuming at the idea of Fo winning the Nobel for the same exact reasons people are being angry about Dylan's award. (BTW, I think both Dylan and Fo deserved the prize)

(BTW, I think both Dylan and Fo deserved the prize) At the time I was in my last year of middle school and remember one of my teachers, almost the stereotypical Ned Flanders-esque ultra-catholic family mother, being VERY pissed off about Fo being chosen for the prize.

Man! Jack T. Chick! I remember reading some of his tracts... pretty kooky stuff. The kind of paranoid stuff about other religions, how role-playing games are evil, stuff like that.
I didn't really buy into any of that, myself, but I do tip my hat off to his artwork.
