for me, this is near the top of the list of "best feeling as a gamer".... if not the top spot...
Crossing off that last want on your want list, or... or -- crossing off multiple hard to find games in one fell swoop! I tell ya, there's nothing better.
2006 I've spent buying mucho. 2007 will finally be the year I stop, and simply enjoy
Anyone have a fond story they recall of "crossing off that last game" or crossing off that game that took you forever to find? I agree with others who say although playing a great game is super awesome... there's nothing like that which actually doesn't involve playing a game, which may seem ironic but is so true (i.e. finally finding that game you wanted for years, or reading an old issue of EGM or GameFan on a lazy Sunday afternoon)

My want list is perpetually stuffed to the brim with all sorts of goodies. Most of which I haven't actually put much effort into finding (Panzer Dragoon Orta) or just want to wait until I have nothing better to buy for the cash (Devil May Cry). Though personally, I get more satisfaction for finding desirable games for extremely cheap prices (both Gungrave games for $9 total) than I do from clearing anything from my want list. I'm a thrifter by nature - I probably get it from my mother.

I actually find blowing the dust of some old CD or Cartridge and booting up some game I use to like 10 years ago for the first time since then something special.

I shrieked like a little girl when I found both Snatcher and Shining Force CD complete in a local thrift place for £2.

When Suikoden 3 was out, I borrowed it from a friend and really loved it. But for some reason I didn't get my own copy. Then when I finally remembered to buy it, it became too much rare. I felt so stupid and sucker for not buying it 2 years ago when it was like 30$. Then I searched and I searched and the only thing I found was copies in this stupid Ebay which I hate. When suddenly BAM my luck day has arrived and some guy I know was selling it for 35$. Oh it felt SO good, SO good.

I remember when I found Tobal No. 1 at gamestop. I freaked out because I had been looking for it for like five years ever since I got my PS1.

Gunstar Heroes was the first game I had ever bought with my own money when I was little and the game was new (I was actually hardcore before I knew what hardcore was). Then is a fit of lunacy I traded it and all my other amazing and rare boxed Genesis games (incluing Castlevania Bloolines) when the Dreamcast came out, though I still am very happy that I was able to buy one. So I had to find Gunstar Heroes again when I returned to my senses. It took me years to find it. That's why I think my best moment was finding Gunstar Heroes at a Gamestop 30 minutes away a couple of years ago(considering that there are a million Gamestops in New Jersey this is a far distance to go). It was cartridge only but it is a game that sweet that I had so many childhood memories so it didn't make me care a bit.

It was 10 years between the time I learned about Snatcher and the time I was actually able to play it. And did it live up to your expectations? Myself having to wait for c.a 10 years, it did somewhat. (was a little goofier than I expected, but then again it's part of the charm). |

I don't see this as terribly special or anything, but there was a copy of Demon's Crest I found at Gamestop for 10 dollars. Actually, that particular store had quite a few rare SNES games that I'm kicking myself for not buying. In a Software Etc., I managed to find a new copy of the Saturn Nocturne in the Moonlight on the same day I got Castlevania 64. Sweet shit. |

Dreams became reality when I finally possessed Akumajo Dracula X: Chi no Rondo, and I never thought that feeling would ever return. It did with Radiant Silvergun. Ahh, memories... ;D
