I'm starting to really hate Gameboys

Here's the situation:

The original Gameboy: For hand comfort, this can not be beaten. It is simply the most comfortable to hold of any of the Gameboys ever made. The problem? Not only is there no color, not only can it only play games meant for the original GB (obviously), but the screen it has blurs the game graphics so much that its near-impossible to tell what's going on at any given time!

Gameboy Pocket and Color: The screen is improved and they can play more games... but they're smaller. Oh my God, WHY ARE THEY SMALLER? Sure, they take up less space, but they're also less comfortable, making me not even WANT to play them because my hands start hurting after a few hours.

Gameboy Advance: The new design is just as uncomfortable as the Pocket/Color, and not only that but the size of the buttons as well as their layout, really sucks. This is no less obvious than when playing games like Astro Boy: Omega Factor (in which one of the special attacks requires you to press both A and B at the same time).

Gameboy Advance SP: Finally has backlighting, which is something Gameboy has needed since the dawn of time. But sadly the problems of comfort have all been compounded, and worse yet, now the GB uses a proprietary power supply (meaning if something goes wrong with it, Nintendo and Nintendo alone can fix it--no more simply going to the nearest gas station and getting batteries).

Geez! When, WHEN will they make a Gameboy that is as comfortable to hold and easy to play as the original, but has the compatibility, backlighting, and features of the GBA SP?

Maybe I could hack my Gameboys and create such a monster, but I'm not sure how.

I'm pretty sure you can buy replacement batteries for the SP for like $20 at Radio Shack.

But yeah, there are certain games, like Gunstar Super Heroes, which are like completely unplayable in portable form. S'why the Gameboy Player is such a necessity.

I've never had any problems with either the GBA or the SP as far as comfort goes, even for games like Astro Boy: Omega Factor. Then again, adjusting to controllers has never been a problem for me. Hell, the original Xbox controller was the one that I used for the system and stuck with up until it failed to function properly any more (the system, that is). I haven't tried out the GB Micro yet though.

It's called a Gameboy player and you put it under your Gamecube

I like the DS, it's got backwards compatability with GBA and GBA only, which suits me fine since all I want is GBA games. It's got backlighting, which suits my dark little den really well, along with four-hour drives with no sunlight. It may be comfortable, but after a while I noticed that my fingers went numb...maybe just that I've been playing for too long, or that I'm holding it too tightly, or both, but I don't like my fingers going numb!

Why is Gunstar Super Heroes unplayable??? I had no problem finishing it on a Gameboy Advance SP.

By the way, the perfect configuration for me would be the first GBA with the brighter backlit screen of the latest SP.

I had one but my boot disk broke. I loved that thing I used to play the Sonic Advance games Astro Boy the Iridion games GSSH's Advance Wars2 River City Ransom EX all on a nice big screen with a quility controller, it's so disapointing that arguably the best console's for hardcore gameplaying is a handheld,I simply can't stand playing games on such a little screen.

To bad the boot disc broke the player device works fine though. I've been having this problem allot lately I'll buy and enjoy an awesome GC game then the disc will break from the tiniest little scratch,because nintendo condensed the fucking software so much the discs will cease to work over the littlest thing. This has happend with my GBA player boot disc Killer7 and the newest Namco arcade collection. I loved to play all three of these till they broke I want my money back but the warranty on all three has expired(that's 150$ down the tube). Is their a way to contact nintendo about this problem?

I also think the problem might have something to do with my gamecube itself I'm going to check that out.

I've actually used most forms of Gameboy, though I currently have a Micro.

It plays well, but I regret not buying a regular Gameboy Advance or an SP, simply because I can't play my old B&W gameboy games on it.

I can play 'em at home on my GB player...but I don't really see the point, given that when I'm at home, I havge FAR superior games to play to my old B&W GB games.

One of these days I might try selling my Micro on Ebay for whatever and just buy myself a regular advance (or the SP version, whichever one I find easier to use)

I don't mind playing Black and white GB games on my TV granted I only have Toshinden right now

I dread what these old GB/GBC/GBA games will look like on my high Def TV though
