I just read that this game is going to ship on 4 discs on the 360. That's crazy.

Lost Odyssey was on 4, Blue dragon was on 3 (though both are early titles that get data compressed less often or well) and Rage was 3 most stuff is on a single disc though.

From what I read, one disc is a mandatory install disc with the the game itself spanning the other three discs. I know some companies ship a separate disc for multi-player, but from what I recall there is no mp being developed for this.

Can anyone think of any other 360 games with mandatory install?

Can anyone think of any other 360 games with mandatory install? Don't you have to install GTA V on 360? It comes on 2 discs.

I guess I just haven't run across any. Didn't know the 360 even had the capability to do an install that's not just caching the whole disc to the drive.
I don't really use my 360 that much though.

I'm not sure about Final Fantasy XIII-2. It did seem like they got compression figured out after about that point. Although, I wonder if it didn't have something to do with Dual-Layered discs. Isn't that how the Wii has avoided that all these years?

Dual-layer discs are nothing new. 360 already uses them. That still only gets a dvd up to about 8 gigs.

by the way, I wonder if you'll actually visit Castle Wolfenstein in this one?

I really don't know what to expect from this game. I've never played Chronicles of Riddick, I just know it's supposed to be a good game. God damn. Jesus, it's like the PS1 all over again!

I really don't know what to expect from this game. I've never played Chronicles of Riddick, I just know it's supposed to be a good game. that game sticks out in my mind because it came out in the summer of 2004, which was an extremely dry spell for games in which there was almost nothing good coming out and having that game come out in the middle of that was like a glass of ice water after trudging through the desert not only that, but there were so many terrible games based on movies released during that generation that the fact that it turned out to be a great game was like a miracle, so these developers seem to have a knack at exceeding expectations however I've never gotten around to re-visiting the game so I'm not sure if still holds up outside of the context of summer of 2004 and ten years later

Strike one: There's a day-one patch. Apparently the AI in this is straight up dumb-as-a-vegetable kind of stupid and that and some other bugs will be fixed in a enormous 6-7 gigs patch. Oh boy.
