Yeah. Those weapons make a world of difference.

If you get to NG++, is the increase in difficulty much lower than the jump from NG to NG+ like how they do it in the past titles? I wonder if it's possible to eventually be able to use a firearm for primary damage, or if through some combination of ammo increasing stuff do a build where you use the cannon a lot. For the cannon, you can use Blood Bullets. I assume you are aware that you can press up on the d-pad to generate 5 temporary extra bullets in exchange for health (you lose an amount of health roughly equal to one Blood Vial)? Those temporary bullets are consumed before your normal bullet supply. Since the cannon uses 6 bullets, you can use Blood Bullets, chug a Blood Vial, and then you extra shot will only consume one "real" bullet... it will eat your 5 blood bullets first, then the remaining bullet will be taken from your actual stock. So you can either use the cannon by consuming 6 bullets, or by consuming 1 bullet and 1 Blood Vial. Still costly, but it allows for more frequent use. As for firearm damage in general, that's what the Bloodtinge stat is for. A +10 Evelyn or Repeating Pistol with 50 Bloodtinge does absurd damage without the high ammo cost of the cannon, and you don't even have to give up melee damage for it, since there are melee weapons that also scale very well with the Bloodtinge stat.

The cannon even at +9 though isn't too great though on NG. Maybe on NG+ with way more put into Bloodtinge but I ended up still having fun with strength.

Any recommendations on firearms after the blunderbuss? I'm still using that, but I was wondering if it's worth switching to something like the repeating pistol.

Is there any real advantage to using the gun rather two-handing your weapon?
Also, I'm very surprised how well PS4 link is working with the Vita.

Im exploring the chalice dungeons right now. There is a lot of new content hiden there, there is about a dozen of new bosses that arent palete swaps. Cursed dungeons are an ass throught. What are the cursed ones like? I only just started with the chalice dungeons, but I've gotten some good gems out of it. I'm making some progress, although I'm bummed because crow lady died (I was worried about hitting/aggro-ing her in the fight against the crazy hunter, and he ended up killing her). Overall since I've switched to the axe as my main weapon it feels like combat's gotten a LOT easier, especially against bosses. Same goes for the snatchers in the jails and stuff - however, I'm still bad at the "PVP"-style enemies (like those yaharghul guys near the cottage/well behind Vicar Amelia's church), I'm having a hell of a time connecting with a "parry" shot on them. As for Amelia, I beat Vicar Amelia on the first try, but she was still tedious - she was tanking hits like mad. I didn't run into her healing though, although I noticed she was doing a "glow" thing and managed to hit her with a charged attack each time.

The update is out today and the load times are better. Plus they've added item descriptions back to the load screen. Very much improved.

At the very least, I'll be glad to read something other than BLOODBORNE. Where you at right now Mr. moran?

The load times are much better it's awesome.
I just beat the Blood Starved Beast earlier today. It was a hell of a battle too. I hadn't realized that it poisoned me, then I got the last hit in right as the poison killed me. It was intense. I wandered around a bit after but couldn't find the next destination.

It is a joke given the thematic and plot direction of Bloodborne.
