Try summoning help, and always go for the left leg.

Vicar Amelia is a giant pain in the ass. Danced a little when a finally beat her. But, not having PS+ is kind of a pain. Being able to summon help would be nice.

The axe seemed to work pretty good on her, just setting up charge attacks with the "boner axe" over and over would land one or two hits on her. I never managed to stagger her though - is that what attacking the left leg does Rasa?
I'm currently on the third Pthumeru (sp) dungeon (I forget what the chalice name was) - the enemies are doing a lot more damage all of a sudden. I guess here's a question for Rasa or caoslayer in particular - I heard there's illusory walls but I haven't found any. Any hints on those?

Joseph yeah getting several successive hard hits on her leg will stagger so you can do the visceral attack on her head or just get some more free hits. It's also a very safe place to be in general though when approaching her because she's always clutching her amulet in her left arm.

The Great Klaid I'll do the same same at this point. And I don't think its possible to summon against her though. The bell seems to be blacked out in that whole area. Joseph Joestar I'm gonna try that strategy next. I've been sticking to the staggering strategy with a fire axe, but she keeps healing herself whenever I get close to killing her.

Did you get the Numbing Mist from the rooftops? Keep the Numbing Mist debuff on the boss and she can't heal. It's not necessary, but it makes things easier.
JoJo, there are no illusory walls in the main game as far as I know. Occasionally the chalice dungeons will have one, but that's it.

Also have you done any chalice dungeons? If not, give that a shot and you should pick up some blood gems that will give you an edge.

Feynman I do have Numbing Mist, but I thought it was just a pvp item. I'll give that a shot too. Joseph Joestar I did try the Chalice briefly. Maybe I'll spend a little more time in there. I was also thinking about taking on the witch in that wooded area before I lose my mind with Amelia.

If you haven't defeated the witch yet, do that first. The reward is very important for upgrading your character, and the boss is a pushover.

Yeah, the main thing is not to get overwhelmed by the summoned enemies, and in the second phase watch out for the long range stun attack that lets the witch throat slit you. Fey nman: yeah my wife told me about the illusory walls but I haven't found one yet; maybe I'm not looking hard enough...
One thing I was wondering, how do you increase discovery in the game? Has anyone found a way to do that?

Im exploring the chalice dungeons right now. There is a lot of new content hiden there, there is about a dozen of new bosses that arent palete swaps. Cursed dungeons are an ass throught. What are the cursed ones like? I only just started with the chalice dungeons, but I've gotten some good gems out of it. The cursed modifier is that you get your hp cut in half, two of the hardest fights in the game are there. --------------------------- About illusory walls they work like the one in regular souls games. I only found one in all the regular dungeons. I heard that there is a little hum as a hint when one is near, also they are always naked walls without features. The crown that is told to discover illusions don't works... sadly I didn't knew better and ran the dungeons looking like Burger King.

Avoiding the summoned enemies is easy: they move super slow and don't become aggressive unless you get really close, then become passive again if you run away to get some distance, so don't bother attacking them at all. The witches don't start frequently casting their more powerful spells until one of them reaches about 20-25% HP, so if you split your damage between the two witches evenly and they won't become a threat until the fight is almost over. As for the Discovery stat, it is tied to Arcane. Raising Arcane raises Discovery as a secondary benefit. The benefits of high Discovery are very minor though, so it's not worth investing in Arcane unless your build requires it.

Also you CAN summon help for Vicar Amelia once all the gates are open. I forget which but I want to say the one to the cemetary being closed prevents it. Once you can just ring the bell right in front of the fog as always.

Jus beat the witch. How do you use the runes now? The altar to the left of where you upgrade your weapons in the dream.
