There are a lot of different KoF games out on XB and PS2 right now and I'm having trouble sifting through them with all of the collections and such. I was a big fan of Fatal Fury: Mark of Wolves (no surprise) and I know I won't get a quality game like that. I just want to play the best ones available for the current systems, 2D or 3D. I trust you guys much more than the magazines and review sites. What do you guys suggest? Also, is Samurai Shodown V good for XB?

get KOF 2002/2003 on xbox they're sold as a single pack.If you crave more KOF goodness on XBOX get Neowave and KOF MI
Shodown V is pretty good BUT the bosses are cheap bastards. SVC Chaos is also great so...........get every SNK game made on XBOX.

I heard they're going to release a Samurai Showdown compilation pack for the JP PS2, so you may want to wait for that. I know it collects I-IV at least, but not sure of the later ones. Also, if you're planning to get SSV for xbox and you are using an HDTV, don't. It's a complete pixelated mess, and is just very, very hard on the eyes. And I swear, I usually don't let stuff like bad graphics get in the way of much, and I'm even a big fan of SS's style. BTW, michiyoyoshiku, I can't think of a single SNK fighter that doesn't have cheapass bosses

Big news: Zero and Dio are Capcom characters (although Dio was originally a manga character), and Igniz was made by Eolith

Zero's a freaking cakewalk, yeah. So is Mukai. Myself, I had trouble with Orochi because I can't use anyone on 97 worth shit.

Because if so, that's a losing argument that's not even debatable. It's not just them, though, as many fighting game companies are guilty of this (ex. Third Strike's boss). Anyway, weird that SSV looks fine but KoF 03 doesn't, since they are both old NG games with same sprite sizes and such. Oh well, maybe it's in the eye of the beholder, who knows? I just know when I saw SSV running, I tried to bear it for a little while, but couldn't.

Both in 94 and 95. He was hard but you could beat him by playing really good, using counters and stuff. Plus he had great BGM in both his stages, Rodem (his panther) and looked really cool (he somehow reminds of a supped up Chuck Norris, lol). He just oozed attitude and bad-assness...

I just know when I saw SSV running, I tried to bear it for a little while, but couldn't. KOF 2003 had 3d Background which looked great the sprites looked Grainy and blurry. Shodown has a watercolor quality to it. I haven't tried SVC Chaos yet though. All those bosses you mentioned are cheap. Are you saying they "aren't" cheap? Indeed I am. Not all SNK bosses are cheap bastards is what I'm Saying. Even Krauser in FF2 and FFSp wasn't that bad (Geese however) The worst Boss Ever is Onslaught from Marvel VS Capcom 1. One of only 2 bosses I have never ever beaten. Gaoh being the other one. Gill I've beaten with everyone but it wasn't easy. Gill's bastard but there's a trick to beating him. (Hit and Run)
