Ever played Maniac Mansion? You might have found a plant in the mansion's library that had no particular use - a plant named Chuck . Chuck also reappeared in Zak MacCracken, Indiana Jones and Last Crusade (curiously renamed to "LeChuck"), and Day of the Tentacle, though he had somehow morphed into a cactus in the years since MM. These days, though, I'm seeing Chuck everywhere (well, not EVERYWHERE, but in a few places). This Wikipedia article details most of his appearances, including a tribute found in TES3: Morrowind (as "Charles the Plant"). But it gets crazier. I just received my copy of Gyakuten Saiban 2 DS from PlayAsia.com, and I'm on Case 2 at the moment. I decided to look around Wright's office for a bit and discovered the potted plant, named "Charley." Presumably, "Chuck" for short. Has Chuck's influence spread so far that the localization team responsible for GS2 decided to throw him in as a tribute? Or was "Charley" in the original Japanese version? Or maybe I'm just overthinking this and it could just be a coincidence...

I mean, it wouldn't be the first time for Capcom's translations having video-game/Internet related references (leetspeak in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" in MegaMan Battle Network, for instance). Wasn't there some cactus plant in MegaMan Legends 1 or/and 2? I may be wrong, but I think it was called Chuck.

That reminds me of a little kid in the first town of FF4, who spoke of the Black Knights REAL ULTIMATE POWER[/i][/color]

He might appear in one of the Metal Gear games because I beleive the Maniac Mansion games were some of Hideo's favirit games.

IIRC, Mia said something about protecting clients "For great justice." That cracked a smile from me. ;D

I remember that one, but I wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or not.
You might think this would be interresting. Hideo Kojima and Inafking are known to admire eachothers works, and you can see some referrences in both of their games: The code names of the FOXHOUND special agents are referrences to Megaman X's Maverick naming scheme ("Weapon Animal"). The Boktai series also has some connections to the Megaman Battle Network series, Boktai 2 can link to Megaman Battle Network 4 for a "cross-over battle" against ShadeMan, and Megaman Battle Network 3 and 4 have quests and chips that are direct referrences to Boktai.
