every tim rogers article in bullet points:
1. i know a lot of obscure japanese media and i will bombard you with how impressive my knowledge is at every opportunity 2. i've also read a lot of lit-class books and will do my utmost to tie this into whatever i'm writing, however tenuous the connection 3. my life rules but eh i'm humbly admitting that 4. what were we talking about? oh yeah this game... (repeats 1-3)

Tim Rogers is what happens when somebody with delusions of grandeur and an excessive love of the sound of their own voice crawls directly up their own asshole and chronicles the journey.

I'm always embarrassed when his fans use the 'you don't like Tim Rogers because you don't like to read real literatures' defense. Tim Rogers is what happens when somebody with delusions of grandeur and an excessive love of the sound of their own voice crawls directly up their own asshole and chronicles the journey. The REAL Devil's Turd, then?

Well ok then.
Thanks anyways, but someone's opinion piece on the matter will not change my mind. As a person, the creator of Devil's Third sounds like an annoyance. I'm not a fan of someone who mentions how much he likes drinking and smoking (not that I care if someone does either) in his interviews about games. He doesn't seem professional to me. Even has some sexual harassment suits against him from women in his workplace. I've never liked his thoughts in any interviews I've read either that dealt with games or the idea of games...
And I tried to like the newer Gaiden's, but I don't like pure action games, especially linear ones.
...That being said, I am still paying attention to this game, especially because of the very detailed online component. Time will tell.

Can you give us some main bullet points about what we could have read? 1) TLDR That was one of the most obnoxious website designs that I've ever seen. The crappy b&w photoshopped image motif is awful.

I can kinda see what they are going for but there's better ways to do it. I mean, come on:

You know for all their talk about literature and whatnot I'll never get over actionbutton complaining that Portrait of Ruin was too Harry Potter for their tastes, when Castlevania had been doing horror/myth merging in similar style to Harry Potter for longer, and both wouldn't be what they were (certainly not SOTN and later games!) without Tolkien.

Isn't early castlevania more like hammer horrors? Don't see any high fantasy in the series. No. bloody orcs an elves, luckily.

Bumping this to say impressions of the game and gameplay videos seem to steer this game into kusoge territory. Anyone here going to be playing the game soon? I live in North America and my region is still pending release date.

In hindsight, this game was doomed from the realization that they were going to keep it on Unreal Engine 3 despite it being on the Wuu. A system that the engine wasn't designed for.
Eat a bag of dicks, Itagaki.

I'm super hyped for this because of how bad it looks and will maybe even pre-order. This will at least be this Nintendo system's Escape from Bug Island or Geist, if not its Daikatana.
The production is similar to Daikatana actually with the many character and changes and stuff, rock star obnoxious Itagaki, etc.
I remember the earliest footage for this, I really hope something in depth comes out regarding the character designs as originally there were several playable characters they had shown off and gone through. I remember dude with Wolverine hair and a Hawaiian shirt, special forces helmeted guy, woman with a snakeskin shirt, business suit woman, bald Asian dude with shades but no tattoos, blond bounty hunter woman, and finally the current guy with the tattoos. But now it seems like its one guy but with customization options evocative of these other concepts.
There was so much hype for such a brief amount of time when this was first announced. After all after the shameful NG3 this was going to be like the REAL Ninja Gaiden 3.

There's this huge deal about the game possibly not being localized by Nintendo right? Nichegamer says it might be partially localized by Xseed in the same way that the Operation Rainfall games were. Strange to see a modern head of studio pushing out something of this quality.

Why does everyone say this looks like shit? I watched the first trailer in the opening post and I think this looks motherfucking awesome as fuck. It's games like this that make me more interested in possibly getting a Wii U down the line.
