Amen to that! What's really depressing is going back and playing all those awesome MegaDrive EA titles... man... Zany Golf!!! Talk about a fall from grace...

Don't forget General Chaos.
it was a Metal Slug RTS before RTSes and Metal Slug existed

Aye, just like Lukas Arts they went from passionate and artistic pioneering to soulless megacorporating. The only good thing I've got to say about both companies these days is they still have some of the best quality control around. I rarely hear of a buggy title from them. The only recent EA titles that I've liked are the Burnout series and Clive Barker's Undying (both made by independent teams). The last Lucas Arts game I was somewhat amused by playing (didn't finish it) was Armed & Dangerous (just published by them, made by Planet Moon Studios). I've yet to play Gladius though, heard some great things about it.

Armed and Dangerous is great but suffers from a really really horrible case of suddenly ending. And I hate to say it but EAs quality control is anything but good see the Battlefield series for a case in point.
Though EA will only cause major problems for the industry if gamers don't unite (or at least losely collaberate) and continue to buy their predominately low quality products which they tend to saturate the market with.

The only good stuff EA puts on the market they bought up from under other companies, case in point being the Burnout series and (in my opinion) C&C.

The EA merger in '98 slowly but surely killed them. Top designers all over the company left, but not before they made a good title or two (mainly Blade Runner and Nox, and C&C was somewhat entertaining right until Renegade). When EA disbanded them, about 100 staff members lost their jobs, and almost none of them were from the original branch of the company.

Have you tried Red Alert 2? It's way better than the rest of the series!

Yeah, but my favorite is still Red Alert 1. Nr 2 was sorta fun in a silly way (stoped taking itself too seriously, which was a good move), but it just can't beat the genius of the classic. It was the last good C&C.

I rarely hear of a buggy title from them. uhh...you should play a battlefield game, that should rectify that train of thought nicely

I really like some of Maddox's rants, somehow he points out different things than most people AND he sounds pissed all the time!

That was near launch when neither of those games even had gotten mentions in press releases or anything. And if I remember correctly, for a long time Xbox fans only had ten things good to say about their console:
1. Waiting for Halo 2. Talking to friends about Halo 3. Playing Halo 4. The way you feel after Halo 5. Talking to your friends about Halo some more 6. Waiting for Halo 2 7. Talking to friends about Halo 2 8. Playing Halo 2 9. The way you feel after Halo 2 10. Talking to your friends about Halo 2 some more
