Anybody liked it?? I loved it, and together with Grandia 1 and Final Fantasy VI they are my fav RPGs. I think Vagrant has incredible story-telling and cut-scenes, which reminded me of Metal Gear Solid. And the ending is just amazing...NO SPOILERS
Am I crazy?? Nobody liked this game but me?? I have been waiting for the sequel for so long!!!

I didn't like it First of all, It's too much dungeon crawler. Second thing, it seems like you play in one place and the plot is happening in another place and there is no connection. Third thing, the game is too much frustrating. It's not challenging in good way, It's hard in an annoying way. I liked the battle system though.

I didn't find it hard. The weapon upgrading system is annoying til you figure out how it works, yes. Maybe that's why it would be hard??

I've had it for years since friends in high school started drooling over it. It'd always get a little ways into it, but then stop, and decide those three slots on my memory card were better used for something else. Something, be it the combat or the action elements or what, just seemed distinctly unfun. I've heard if one can get past that initial starting block, the game speeds up and becomes loads of fun, but I have yet to do that.
I think there's a cranky gamer's article on this around here too.

I haven't played the game, because it seems too much of a dungeon crawler for my taste, but my little sister really likes it (has completed it about 4 times). She sure wouldn't mind a sequel.

So I guess it's not that good of a game after all...

Hated it back when I played it. It took me several hours to finally come to grips with the weapon development system, and when I finally thought I understood, I came to the realization that it wasn't any fun at all.
Still, I've kept it around in case I ever try to go back someday and make sense of it. I do like the dungeon crawling aspects, and the atmosphere is impeccable.

I wish I could have found a copy. Now that ebgames doesn't sell used PS1 games, I'm hosed as to ever playing it, I guess.
