No one has played the Alpha yet? For SHAME:P
They just hit up Kickstarter too - a third of the way to their goal with 29 days left.
Also, check out the stinger at the end of the Kickstarter trailer... it's a corker. Especially if you're at all fond of Initial D...
I'm beyond hyped for this now. The Alpha has sent me over the edge...

Just tested out the Alpha today. Pretty fun. I managed to beat the Intermediate time with a lap of 1:22.239. First Person camera is pretty useless based on how much the car turns when drifting. Shame too, that's usually my preferred cam when driving. I am a big fan of the 'endless laps with refreshing ghosts' method of doing time trials . Kinda like Trackmania, but that has you retrying rather than doing laps. Though it does mean that Lap 1 is a write-off...

Also you can't reset if you screw up the first corner, cause you have to relap anyway >__< No idea how multi is going to work except as Trackmania style no impacts because that track can't support multiple cars would be impossible.

I could time-trial forever in this. SEGA Rally has kept me occupied in much the same way for almost 20 years. Drift Stage seems to be of the same ilk. I honestly love it so far. It's not often a game comes along and caters to one's oddly-specific taste in games, but for me, this does just that. Arcade racers have gotten boring over the last 15 years or so. I've wanted to like a lot of them, but open worlds have really killed great track design. SEGA Rally had corners that were uber-memorable, yet hard to master. The same goes for a lot of the Ridge Racer games, Daytona, etc. Between this and (hopefully) The 90's Arcade Racer, I'll be set for the next 20 years, haha! EDIT: Changed 15 years to 20... cripes, where has the time gone???

I really enjoyed the alpha and I'm in love with the artstyle. It just bothers me that I need to run the game in 480 resolution, to get a halfway decent framerate, something that definately shouldn't happen with graphics like this. (same like the second SADX release T_T) Let's hope the performance problems are just bound to the alpha.

(same like the second SADX release T_T) Let's hope the performance problems are just bound to the alpha. It's a Unity game, which tend to be badly optimized. I doubt they'll improve performance much, but for most Unity games, I don't recommend going over "Good" unless you want your framerate destroyed. Setting the game to the lowest setting shouldn't hurt the visuals too much hopefully.

I don't even know what Unity's hilariously nondescript "Quality" settings even do, except for the fact that anti-aliasing gets forced on at "Beautiful."

The game only seems to support xinput and not directinput controllers (booooo), but I managed to beat the Expert time trial using keyboard controls. Great game, love the music, definitely backing the Kickstarter.

Seems to run fine on my end; however the drifting needs a little tweaking in my opinion. Right now, it's too snappy. You snap back out of a drift far too quickly and far too easily.

Myrone has said that that's one of the main issues that the team is fixing. He frequents a couple of Synthwave Producer groups on Facebook that I;m a part of, and I didn't miss my opportunity to ask him about it!

The drifting works kind of strangely, took me ages to get used to it.

Yeah, the drifting feels really broken right now. Glad to hear that they will try to fix it. Great music though, great aestetics, loads of potential.
