From a gameplay and feature point-of-view I find the Oblivion Lost Remake vastly superior to SoC. The only problem thus far is the language barrier, but the translation will solve that. What I especially like is it's execution of the original design documents. For instance, the Agroprom building contains lots of debris, just like it was originally planned. The planned missions and cutscenes of the design documents are all there. One thing I liked particularly about the most recent update, was the helicopter activity in Cordon. They behave in a way like they did in build 1935 for example; not simply flying by once through script... I can assure people that nothing is "overdone", and the atmosphere is really amazing.

Most important part that explains who these Areal devs really are.
What happened with the West Games claims about the STALKER assets and team?
"I don't really know enough about them, but the story is quite funny. These guys were basically promoting themselves as being the STALKER team, that they were working on STALKER, but that's not true. When we were working on STALKER 2, we were also planning on releasing a browser game based on STALKER so we could keep the audience engaged until released.
"That project was never finished. There were mistakes. But the guys at West Games, that was the STALKER project they were working on - a flash game. So when they promoted themselves as having worked on STALKER, I was quite surprised. We would definitely win the legal action against them, but we won't start it. They used a lot of the ideas from STALKER... I don't know what they were thinking, starting that. I haven't heard from them for quite a while."
Eitherway, it's good to see the real original developers behind Stalker back in action.

Indeed Sir!
I'm in a S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-mood, so please allow me to share some posts with of the best videos regarding the game's development (2001-2007)...
All are of tech demos and older builds...

Some interviews, inside info, and developer's commentaries... I think that it's one of the most interesting titles ever made. Not only the game itself, but also it's (long and troubled) development-cycle. It's probably my favorite PC game of all-time, but, it could've been much, much more. But, I shouldn't complain, because as I mentioned here before, even though it's (still) Russian-only, there's this (completely free): If one's interested, links for the stand-alone version + regular updates are provided on this (Russian) board: ap-pro.ru/forum/35-10137-1 (Yandex Russian-to-English translator is recommended for reading it). The source code of the X-Ray Engine was leaked not so long ago. The best, is yet to come... ;-)

Don't you just love that there's an entire video game series that can trace it's origin back to an obscure Russian sci fi novel from the 70's?

No, it's more like Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon with future tech and aliens! Pretty fun little game overall.

FireStarter is now available on GOG, for any fans of GSC, the X-Ray Engine, or oldschool FPSes in the audience.
