Kamiya is a great game designer and someone who actually cares about the game rather than the 'experience' which is always nice. He is a huge dick online though.

I'm amused to see that he's an asshole. Makes the view that most of his games are overhyped mediocre trash all the more satisfying.

Mind elaborating how Bayonetta and Wonderful 101 are "overhyped mediocre trash?" If you mean Viewtiful Joe I can kinda get behind that, but I'm interested in hearing what you have to say. I saw what the earlier people in this thread had to say about Wonderful 101, and while I think that it does take some time to get used to, the actual game itself is great. I don't think there are really any other games that does what it does in terms of gameplay, and I think the atmosphere and themes of the game are a nice break from the artsy serious drek that plagued most of 2013.

Unlike Phil Fish, Kamiya has at least somewhat earned the right to be a prick online. Also Kamiya has a huge experience on working at many awesome games while Phil Fish only made a glorified, watered down Super Paper Mario rip-off and he suddenly saw himself as the best creator ever, talking shit about modern, japanese video games (while he copied one), starting behaving as the ultimate douchebag even to his fans by denying to make updates to fix the game's issues and bragging that he should sell his game more expensive, created lots of internet drama to the point to quit the plans for a sequel and later attacked to the whole gaming community with the opportunity of GamerGate. Also keep in mind that many Kamiya's supposedly Twitter posts are just fake edits like the Sakurai's supposedly miiverse post about Goku's entry at Super Smash Bros. Finally Kamiya treats well his loyal fans at Twitter. Like he did with a friend of mine that wrote at his Twitter about playing and finishing Okami HD and how much he loved it and Kamiya liked his post. Tell me how many gaming celebrities would do that instead of ignore them. I'm amused to see that he's an asshole. Makes the view that most of his games are overhyped mediocre trash all the more satisfying. With the difference that most of his games are objectively masterpieces that deserve the fame they they. Although some of his Okami fanboys glorify this game too much to the point to claim that it's much better than Zelda. Then again, the same shit also happens with games like Alundra and Crash Team Racing.

I think with "the view that most of his games are overhyped mediocre trash" he means HIS view, and not the view. At least I hope.

I meant as in his view. I'm just interested in it.
