I've been thinking lately about a lot of the old PS1 RPGs that I never got around to playing and / or beating. Beyond the Beyond, Wild Arms, the Grandia series, etc. I downloaded some files to give them a shot, but they aren't in the usual ISO or Bin / CUE format. Instead, there's a CCD, CUE, IMG, and SUB file in the rar. After looking around for a way to use these, it seems that I need to convert the IMG to an ISO. I tried using a couple of programs to this end, IMG to ISO and Power ISO, but neither seemed to work. IMG to ISO gave an error about the conversion, and Power ISO tried to install malware of some sort.
Anyone know how to get this type of game archive up and running?

There's normally no need to convert those, they're usable by emulators and can also be burned without much problems.

Img files can actually have advantages over the usual ISO and BIN formats. The key is that .SUB file - it contains sub channel data, which I don't really know enough about to explain, except that sub channel data tends to be used for copy protection. This shows up more frequently on PC cdrom games than PlayStation, but it does still happen.

This kind of thing used to give me problems forever in MAME, because I never came across to not unzip them.

Yeah, that's exactly what was throwing me. They were showing up as opening with Winzip, which was just all kinds of WTF.
