I have to be the only person on the internet for who XEBRA refuses to work. Not matter what I do it simply refuses to load any game at all. Multiple game file types, different regions, mounting, direct loading, absolutely nothing works. I gave up on it a while ago.
I stick to psxjin and whatever the hell it is Retroarch uses.

Same here. I could get the bios to boot and nothing else. After a week of trying I settled with epsxe, its not the most accurate and plug ins can be a annoying but it works well enough.

Glad I'm not the only one. I've found that PSXJin actually has better compatibility than epsexe, but less settings. Give it a try is epsexe gives you any grief.

I understand the initial difficulty, run into it myself. Once you got it running... Here's a short guide: linkMind you that you don't have to mount images, you can click in the disc image to load it up.

Finally managed to get it working. (Thanks for the guide, Terrifying)
It doesn't seem to want to play everything, and the frame rate is terrible, but at least I can have a play around with it now that I can get it to at least play some games.

The frame rate isn't terrible. You just have to futz with the cycle settings.

The frame rate isn't terrible. You just have to futz with the cycle settings. Yeah, I played around with the settings and now it runs perfectly. There are games it refuses to play (that other emulators will), but I can't tell if that is due to the emulator or the image files. At any rate I'm glad I got it working. It is a wee bit temperamental, but god damn is it accurate. Seriously impressive.

If its SOTN, you have to do some additional trickery to get it to work. This is actually an improvement over PSXFin where the game simply crashes randomly.

It was actually a game called Overboard (it's about pirate ships) that refused to work under Xebra, yet works under epsxe. But thanks anywayćI'm sure that will come in handy if I ever want to plat SOTN
