Has anyone here ever beaten Friday the 13th on NES without losing any counselors or children? It's more like a serial killer simulation than an action game. Everyone's going to die, no matter what.

I've never played this game, but have been curious about it ever since I saw this Let's Play of it.
"Ghoul School" on the NES. Sounds like it would be crap, but the actual gameplay seems kind of intriguing, with a really detailed school full of monsters and kind of a Metroidvania vibe. Looks rough around the edges, but pretty fun nonetheless.
This Cornshaq guy is crazy good at 2D platformers, though, so for all I know, this game could be downright impossible.

How could I forget mentioning CAPCOM's Sweet Home?

Its not impossible though, you just need some patience with it. I'm not a fan of the controls. Very similar the NES Simpsons games. But you get used to them. But like Metroid, you are not given any clear directions so there's a lot of wandering. Good music too. Update: The guy in the Let's Play there makes it look much easier. You'd have to be real lucky to stumble upon the path he takes. There's a lot more exploring involved.

Thanks also for posting the video, that guy has some really nice content.

Thanks also for posting the video, that guy has some really nice content. Yeah, I really like his stuff. He's not obnoxious like so many LPers, instead just giving quick tips as he goes along while remaining mooooostly quiet and letting you just watch his pretty much expert-level gameplay unfold. -Tom

Yeah, he is really skillful! His narration reminds me of video game hint VHS tapes from back in the day, actually.

Too boring. I was kinda hyped for this game and what I got was a slow, dull action/platform that even its interesting presentation couldn't save it. For a smartphone game it would be OK. But as a console game there are so many other better choices.

I know right? Despite the visual flair, Black Knight Sword stinks. Even then, Puppeteer is a much cooler "fake-puppet-show-2D scroller" game.
