I know the Retrode is a thing... or was. They stopped manufacturing them, and all of their stock is sold out Is there any other way I can use to dump ROMs of my games onto my computer?

Hmm, looks pretty promising; thank you for the link! Is there an alternative for Genesis cartridges as well?

You got a prototype of 7th Guest or something? No, I just want to be able to upload my actual cartridges and play them on my computer. ...Is that so wrong? D:

Does anybody actually have the Super UFO Pro 8? I need some help with its backup function.

I know the Retrode is a thing... or was. They stopped manufacturing them, and all of their stock is sold out That's unfortunate. It seemed like a pretty good idea, but I guess its audience is limited. Does anybody actually have the Super UFO Pro 8? I need some help with its backup function. Are you using UCON64?

FYI, an announcement went up on their site two weeks ago suggesting that more Retrodes might be on the way after all.

Thanks; I ordered one the other day They can be bought here if anyone is interested. Mine hasn't arrived yet, so I can't comment firsthand on the site's reliability, but I was keeping an eye on when they would receive new stock for months now. I'm glad it's finally back

Late reply, but no. Even then, though, someone tried various options. Verdict is that the Super UFO Pro 8 is largely a POS.

While the wait was agonizing, it seems it was a good thing that I waited for new Retrode units to be manufactured, rather than shelling out for the Super UFO Pro 8.
Although... does anyone know if the Super UFO Pro 8 can dump either Mega Man X2 or Super Mario RPG, out of curiosity?

It's not like the thing is well-documented. Most of the written comments on it describe it as shit, and I think so from experience. Out of curiosity, why dump those 2 games when, you know...?
Matter of fact, just in general. Are you going to be backing up full, commercial games or other stuff like bootlegs and protos? Because for the former, just about any copier will do and they're already out there. For stuff like protos, the UFO is underwhelming; there has been better success with the likes of the Retrode and Mash-Mods (the latter I recently learned about and it's really good). However, enhancement chip games may prove to be a problem.
