Actually I think the extras in FF IV Advance are a lot of fun, if ultimately superfluous. Being able to play as Yang and Cid in late game was something I had dreamed of ever since I first played Final Fantasy II back in the day.

I meant that towards the patching up they did with FF4, which they really wouldn't need to do if they'd just delay the release a little, and it's not like Square isn't swimming in money.

As for FF6...I'd just see about getting the SNES version (FF3). The Playstation version has terrible music, tons of slowdown, and even more loading. The GBA version isn't really all that improved over the SNES game, and while the music sounds pretty decent, the slowdown is pretty annoying, although not nearly as bad as the PSOne version. ... seriously? I never played the SNES one, actually... all I know is the PS1 version, and I don't recall encountering any slowdown. Music sounded kickass too.

The glitches in FF4 on the GBA are rather annoying- the ATB is totally, totally screwed! Mind you, I imported my cart from America so maybe the European one really does have that fixed... but I'll be damned if I am going to get another Pink Tail again so I will not be buying a UK copy! The FF5 on the GBA really is rather lovely. I just finished it last night and enjoye almost every minute of it. The music is vastly superior to the PS1 conversions and hey, no horrific loading times!

Try booting up a SNES emulator and give it a shot. In the Playstation version, the "prelude" theme sounds awful. Most of the piano samples are massively distorted. The cursor sound is pain on the ears. There's slowdown in practically every battle. When you hit something, the damage numbers slowly pop on. The menu lags too and seems to show up too sluggishly during combat. It's much faster in the SNES version. I thought the FF5 and Chrono Trigger ports were aceeptable (despite the loading and slightly off music) but the FF6 port was shameful.

Wow... and despite that, it's still my favorite FF game out there... guess a not-so-good translation still can't keep an immortal classic down.

Since the game lets you play as leo for a short time making a code to play as him would be easy. even I could do that. But that don't make him officially ressurected. I don't think he should be either, not officiiallly. It would of made a cool unlockable tho. Castlevanai games always have unlockable characters with no stories. FF should experiment with that too.

If they don't offer Leo (or Gestahl) as playable characters in the WOR, It would (will) be interesting to see if they try to tie down every story rumor that existed (Shadow being Relm's dad, Gogo actually being that girl Setzer had the hots for that "died" in the airship accident, what EXACTLY happened to the people of Narsh in the WOR, etc). At least, that kinda stuff would be neat. ...and if you haven't played FFIII/VI and don't know what WOR is, don't ask.

Plot wise I would prefer them not to resurrect Leo- like mentioned before, his death is a pretty big event- it is like the last shred of goodness in the Empire totally being destroyed... Bringing him back for a "heck why not!" moment would be a bit lame. I can only imagine the screams of joy/bloody murder that would come from the fans if Square decided to Resurrect Aeris in FFVII.

iamstillhiro1112? THE iamstillhiro1112? Nice to see you here man, and thanks again for those codes. The only GBA Final Fantasy game I have (besides FF: Tactics Advance) is Dawn of Souls. I liked it. I'll hold off on FF6 advance because I want Final Fantasy 3 for the DS. I'd like to hear more of this whole Leo incident in the future.

If you have the Playstation version of FF4, there's no real reason to get the GBA version. It has better background graphics, but added slowdown and some new glitches. The translation is basically the same with a few minor touch-ups (nicer font though.) The GBA version of FF5 is probably worth grabbing though. Much better translation and no loading screens make it better than the PSOne version. Don't the GBA versions also include extra dungeons? As for FF6A, I'm holding off until it releases in America. Hopefully the slowdown you described will be corrected by then.

Yeah all of the GBA games have extra dungeons at the end of the game.
Anyway I tried the game on a newer version of VBA and it actually fixed most of the slowdown - at least, from the parts I played. I still gotta replay the moogle fight (because that was REALLY bad when I first gave it a go), maybe it was just the emulation screwing up.

I just told a friend not to buy it just because I heard it had slowdown. And I thought you were always on top of things!!!
