I was at Best Buy this afternoon (Natick, MA) and was walking around the DS section when I noticed something out of the corner of my eyes: Jump Super Stars for the DS! I thought to myself, "How on earth did this get released in the US?!?" So I picked it up and was surprised to see that it was the Japanese version. There were 3 or 4 copies for sale. Each had a sticker on the front saying something to the effect of "This game is a Japanese import. All text in the game and in the manual are in Japanese. However, you can visit www.importfaqs.com for explanations of how to play this game." Now if you follow this link you get to a site that alleges to contain help with playing imports. If you click on any of the game, you get a web form to fill out. Seems a little shady. So what's happening???

"Got questions for our import titles? Click any of the title cover on the left and write to us. "
That's what it says on the side before you get a form, I don't know what's up but I guess someones been bringing them in for no real reason.

How much are they selling for? If Best Buy is cheaper than the import shops I'm going to buy one as soon as I can!!!

I saw this a little bit ago as well, and it struck me as odd, since I'm under the impression that you actually have quite a bit of Japanese to read through in this game. Kinda tells me they're only doing it for little kids who have no idea what they're getting into because it's got recognizable characters, and nothing more. Had they done any simple research, they could have gotten a game with minimal reading and done even better for themselves, i.e. Rhythm Tengoku, Ouendan (especially with new release of EBA), any puzzle game, etc. As it is, does anyone think it's anything but a failure waiting to happen?

Not really. I would think that anyone who actively goes to Best Buy to buy Jump already knows that he can get a decent guide off gamefaqs. Nice thing is that you don't have to deal with shipping and handling costs and the wait afterward.
...Still, times like these make me wish there was a Fry's in my area.

It was $49.99 at Bestbuy. Probably not worth getting since the Ultimate Super Stars game or whatever just came out or is going to come out soon.
