Well, I guess I buy console games because I've been brainwashed into doing so. I guess I'm a brand-loyal robot and don't genuinly like the games I play. I guess PC developers truly care for their customers and console creators/devs see you as their sheep. I'm not sure if I should laugh or be offended. You realize that developers make more money on PC than consoles, right? That aside, you should't be offended. There's nothing wrong with embracing the "old console classics", because I still embrace the good old Nintendo games. Because, like I said console gaming was at least tolerable in the past. Now it simply isn't. I am not a mindless fanboy. I care about GAMING. Not brands. If a company does evil acts, I will not support them anymore. Simple. ;-)

It just seems like a shortsighted approach to gaming. Who cares about all of that drama? Just play good games. There are plenty on nearly any system and during any hardware generation.

The problem is that "good games" can camouflage shady companies responsible for them. I am talking about hijacking something of integrity. I don't care about "drama", I am interested in facts. And facts lead to evidence. The evidence is that console gaming is gaming in a homogenized and controlled "environment". Maybe I am talking to walls, but I want to be clear that I am not out there trying to insult gamers. In fact, I am supportive of those who are really fed up with the current situation, because they CARE about gaming.

I don't think it's case of your message not being heard. More likely, it's that the ability to play good games trumps any kind of "cause", for want of a better word. Yeah, modern companies do a lot of shitty things, but that's on any platform. Singling out consoles and refusing to play their games seems like it would hurt you a lot more than it would any company that produces console games.
Everybody has to make the choices that they feel they can live with, but I don't see how your life is improved in any way by shunning console games wholesale.

I am not targeting console gamers, I am targeting fanboys who refuse to be critical. They don't care about gaming, they say whatever a company think they should say. And, you know what? They even fucking do it. Most PlayStation gamers don't care about ownership. Most Nintendo gamers don't care about paying for games they already own. It's one big corporate mafia. And nobody cares, because they are part of it...

And nobody cares, because they are part of it... ...let me get this straight. You're deciding to never play console games again ...because some people who own consoles are fanboys? Console gaming has been exactly like this since the first rival console came into existence. I would understand if you're boycotting actually horrible, damaging business practices and refusing to buy from certain companies (Microsoft's massive push to destroy the used games market, Ubisoft's awful launches, Activision cutting studios for arbitrary reasons, ect), but that's not what you're actually doing here. You're not buying consoles because you don't like some people who play them and that digital stores exist (which started on the PC in the first place) for games you can easily get cheaper somewhere else, or physical copies for easily (unless it's a particularly rare game, but at least you can pay a much smaller fee to at least play that game while saving for a hard copy). This isn't consumer rights you're advocating here, this is blind lunacy. You're basically saying that everyone is the problem without nailing down the actual sources of the problems. Your only truly valid complaint so far is over Youtube fuckery, yet you're using this as a stance to play no new console games whatsoever. That's backwards. Just don't make videos for games owned by those dickish companies and write written articles, and don't watch videos that fall under this new Nintendo program. React in a way proportional to the problem, that way you don't end up that one jaded guy who constantly goes on and on about how everything was better in your time.

I am not even interested in mentioning the many, MANY sources of my disgruntlement. I've been a console (and slightly less PC) gamer for more than 25 years now. You really think that my annoyance comes out of the blue? That I think that console gaming is backward gaming? That consoles are holding -gaming itself- back? This isn't a thing I made up yesterday. This has been boiling for ages. If people choose to be ignorant and brand-loyal remain so. Don't come and cry about your rights and freedom as a gamer. Don't come crying about the lesser quality. If you're serious about gaming, remain critical and objective. Be well people, goodbye.

Ehm...you were clearly targeting console gamers and consoles in general not 'fanboys who refuse to be critical'. Like here:
Also, nothing you're describing so far is really a console-only thing or couldn't be applied to PC or whatever.
Well, perhaps you should, so that maybe people will get what the hell you're talking about.

if u get scammed in 2015 it's your fault *victim blaming intensifies* That... doesn't exactly excuse its existence. Imagine this scenario: Some guy offer you an enticing product on Kickstarter. (Something that isn't immediately recognizable as a ruse.) You quickly donate to the campaign only to find 6 months later that those were only test units. The actual product can't come to fruition because their funds ran out faster than anticipated... Think for a minute here. There would have been no way to Google that shit - nobody saying definitively "it's a scam," only speculation. And in your world, the crook gets away with it because "you're all too gullible, suck it up." Is that really a world you want to live in? caveat emptor dude

It was like the same time I got my own personal guy on the boards I'll remember less than fondly. So I was too caught up in finally feeling like a proper regular. Best part of that though was we ended up getting two discs and it was freaking sweet.

Did you know that out there, there's people that think that you're all less than "Hardcore." I'm so glad I finally stopped caring. I only wish I could have stopped caring YEARS ago.
