SNK Vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS. It's easy, overly simplified trite with a localization that shoves in references to Wendy's and Larry the Cable Guy. I have beaten it at least four times now. Ok, color me intrigued; I'm curious what they did... The main character, at one point, quips "where's the beef?"

Hmm. I have more of these than I would like to admit. ^_^;
I really like just about all of Zoom's games. Yes, even Genocide.
One game that I really like is Micronet's The Heir of Zendor. It's the US localization of Gotha II. It's a Strategy RPG that has so many incredibly good ideas but the implementation is just so bad, which is especially sad considering that the music and graphic design is very very good. It even had good CG FMV for the era, IMHO.
To be fair, it's actually better than the unreleased-in-this-market prequel in almost every way (It used to have polygon graphics, but considering how bad it was in the first game, it really is for the best). But the localization is terrible. There is no subtitles for the voice acting in the game, and the voice acting is absolutely atrocious. Worse, it's mixed so badly that you will not be able to hear what they are saying.
I also have a soft spot for another Micronet game called Battle Fantasy for similar reasons, but also because it was localized for America with the utterly ridiculous title Revengers of Vengeance. I really liked a lot of the ideas in it, but the gameplay is so terrible I can't touch it, so I guess it doesn't really count.

I bought a boxed copy of Fester's Quest. I can't help but love it; the game speaks to my very soul.

Energy for the Pc Engine. The indistinct art and strange characters makes it feel as if there is hidden depths there somewhere - like we are seeing a snapshot of a much larger world. Plus, the gameplay is actually rather good, once you get used to the strange pauses between screens.
Energy is a better game waiting to happen...

I enjoy the Castlevania Adventure unironically. I know it's a bad game but I still get a kick out of it and love the music. Sniper 2 on PS2 was one of those terrible simple 2000 games localised by a dodgy publisher for Europe. If you have a PS3 it's worth setting up a European account just to see how bad this game is. It's absolutely hilarious. There's so much wrong, from the utterly nonsense story, each level lasting maybe 15 seconds and the fact that you aren't ranked on accuracy or speed but on how close the timer is to 5 seconds left. youtu.be/oYM-LjRw97s

Oh, almost forgot.
Gender Bender DNA Twister Extreme. It's a very, very bad visual novel that's still being made to this day, and it's HILARIOUS. It's the closest to good bad movie quality I've ever seen a game reach. It has boring moments, but the truly baffling things that pop up in it, both major and the minor, make it all worth it. I've even been live-tweeting it, and I plan to play more of it once my schedule evens out.

Deadly Premention is an obvious mention. Another mention is Earth Defense Force 2025 and Spelunker. Earth Defense 2025 is not bad, it's the plot. It's basically a homage to Japanese B-Movies. The moment I saw the ants crawling out of the ground, I laughed my rear off.

Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball 2 (Xbox360): Talking about Rumble Roses, I too admittedly enjoyed DoA for the volleyball... legit. It seriously does have good graphics and play. I could do without the sexual crap, but taking care to not get sunburned cracks me up. I played this game way longer than anybody ever should. As a lonely 13 year old with no internet the original DOAX was honestly a Godsend. .......perhaps I've said too much, but despite the obvious those actually were fun games, the pretty graphics, the soundtrack, it all came together to create a pleasant vibe that really did feel like a "virtual vacation" which was supposedly the actual intent of them.

Hmmmm, maybe the old King's Quest games, since opinion shifted to them being inferior to the might LucasArts adventure games.

i had friends over fro a whole night of Sega-CD FMV madness that was pretty much in this vein...came to find out that Wirehead's actually pretty brilliant, and Panic! is fantastic when you're too high to play regular/non-Katamari games.

Whoever told you that Panic! was a bad game needs a punch in the jaw. That game is a masterpiece. It's actually a pretty good demonstration of what you can do with the Sega CD hardware too, in spite of it's lack of interactivity.
