Bean's Quest IOS & Android - this definitely deserves to be on the list - it's one of the greatest mobile games I've ever played. Simple two-touch control method with brilliant platforming, some of the most colourful graphics you'll see on a mobile device, and the music is amazing too Final Freeway 2R IOS & Android - Was originally released as a premium game, and a free alternative was eventually released too. But the premium version is still up, and it's totally worth it. A really neat Outrun clone with a wealth of control options, stunning scaler-style visuals and some catchy music. Definitely recommended. EDIT: Also, can we include free games with a one-time IAP that unlocks the full game??? I kinda see them as premium, since once that unlock takes place, there are no further micro-transactions.

akumajobelmont : yes, include freely free games with a one-time payment to remove ads or something. they're premium games in the end. I'll try Bean's Quest, and possibly integrate it in part 3 of the list. As for Final Freeway 2R, I got the two games in the series. I guess for me it is deserving more of an "honorable mention". But don't be shy, write your own list!

But don't be shy, write your own list! Ahh, I thought you were doing an overall list, and taking suggestions - all good! If I remember something, then I'll add it to the post I started Now that I think about it, I think we will stand by one big list, the one I started, but we will always add games we had forgotten, or games proposed by you, for example. In that case, I will write for example - Final Freeway 2R (proposed by akumajobelmont : and then the text. Because what I realized making these first 2 parts of the list is that it's.. awfully time-consuming, what with searching for video reviews and whatnot... So, It would be great if everyone came with a list, but I guess the most practical solution is that you propose me a game, I buy it, test it, and then put it in the list or in the forthcoming "Honorable Mentions" list, for good games which just had one or two big design faults. Yeah, I think one unified list built on conscensus is the most useful solution. this way everyone can add a game, but we still keep only one list, so things remain clear for gamers. So yes, actually, I'm doing one definitive list, and yes, I'm of course in need of everyone's suggestions, just like you said. I have free ime and money, so I can take all the time necessary to curate the list, and I have enough money to buy the games suggested to me, so that the decision in a conscensus. I repeat, don't hesitate to voice your complaints if you think a game should not be in the list!

Ok. My list, 0.1 version. PART ONE (because too long is difficult). iOS (i have Android too but need to check games), and there is pretty high chance that some games are dead right now unless you already bought them or no i won't say that (pulled off AppStore, can't work on current OS etc. I insist on letting people know about them cause it's HG101, dammit) - i have iPod Touch 2G with 4.2.1 system and iPad 3 with iOS 7. I also may include freeware games too and occasionally games where in-app exists but completely not necessairy. I also wanted to remind how i play on smartphone/player. I use thumbs and middle fingers to hold device while i tap screen with index fingers. If i need four "Active fingers", i use ring fingers to hold so middle fingers help index ones. Also, to view fullsize of pictures, remove 400x_ from link. (Hope you see pictures >< ) Hoggy - nice puzzle-platfomer Pix'n Love Rush - this platformer is my absolute love. Combines gameplay element from different 70s-80s classics. Also on PSP and PS3. Trace - one of earliest games where you need to draw lines to help you advance obstacles. Trundle - yeah one of those silhouette games. Nice atmosphere. The Screetch - really pretty Match-3 game with quality style and decent gameplay. Plushed - a bit psychedelic platformer. Enjoyed it but bever beat final boss (or did i?) Chaos Rings by Media.Vision (Wild Arms creators) - pretty lovely jRPG with amazing artstyle (i love how characters drawn and how beautiful dungeon backgrounds are and even monsters has their definite style) and music. And i like that Chaos Rings gently touches themes of love, partnership and sacrificing. Not that you havent seen that in various animes, but. I love how CR deals with that. Rimelands: Hammer of Thor - nice tactic rpg with dice rolling. Snail Mail - simple yet nice arcade racing with snails. Psychoban - funny/creepy puzzle inspired by sokoban. Hi, How Are You - really cool platformer inspired by Daniel Johnston's music album with same title. Osmos - modern classic, kinda. Sits on your device perfectly. Mirror's Edge - still feels like best runner on platform for me. Dead Space - telling about what happened between DS1 and DS2, decent horror-themed tps. Farm Break - you have three ships of various size and weight, and you need to solve puzzles to progress further. Plays harder than it looks. Karoshi - kind of "best of" in famouse kill-yourself platformer series. Some puzzles can surprise you. Undercroft - classic dungeon crawler, with tons of humour. 1-bit Ninja - one of games that i wish was ported somewhere else instead of dying on mobiles. For me, it's one of best marioclones EVER. Nice controls, good retro style, and challenge. Yes you must jump on that arrow that flies to kill you. Toyshop Adventures - 2.5D platformer that reminds Little Big Planet sometimes. Save Toshi DX - really cute physics puzzle where you must push cheerleader (...or who is she) on dance floor and not drop her to water. Chaos Rings Omega - prequel. EDGE - from 2008 or 2009, and still one of the best. Move your cube, listen to chiptune and balance on edge! Also see EDGE Extended with new levels and music. ExZeus - rail shooter from french-japanese developers. Originally planned for Dreamcast, released for PS2 and Wii as well. iCube - 3d puzzle, move ball in labirynth inside of cubes. Robot Wants Kitty - metroidvania for you.

PART TWO (see above for reference)(remove 400x_ from picture link to see full size) Rolando 1-2 - that was pretty nice dilogy which took inspiration from LocoRoco and Katamari. Must.Eat.Birds - hahahaha those birds eat your cakes. Eat birds to defend cakes. HILARIOUS. Splode - reminds me Every Extend Extra a bit. Wait for right moment and chain a reaction of explosions. You must overstep a minimum for each stage. A bit casual but very relaxing. iSlash aka hold yourself in hands. You must cut off wood pieces without touching shourikens. Ash - nice jRPG. Sadly it's sequel ends on cliffhanger. Blame Konami who bought out devs and than did smth to them. JAZZ: Trump's journey - very cool platformer about jazz culture. Terra Noctis - platformer with decent audiovisuals. Tomena Sanner - the most HILARIOUS runner i ever played. Also for WiiWare. Miss Claire Garden - well made platformer with throwing things. Pexer's Tower - crazy puzzle from Four Winds Fantasy developer. Swordigo - really good 2.5D sidescrolling action. Can be hard on later levels though. Samurai 1,2 - attempt at slash action game. If you're comfortable with controls you can like it. Also, nice graphics style. Nihilumbra - i prefer this over Limbo. In this game you cover surface with colours which gives you different abilities. Blood Roofs - yes another runner... But i like it's theme. Pretty epic Nightmare Creaturesque. Lili - a bit casual but i found 90's adventure games atmosphere here. Cool Pizza - pretty good, even if you dont like runners - it has nice action here and i love style. Galaxy on Fire 2 - eye-candy space flights game. Zombie Panic in Wonderland - yes i know that devs are pretty greedy with IAPs... I still wanted to mention game cause it plays well and Cabal-style shooters are rare nowodays. ALSO on Wii and 3DS. ExZeus 2 - sequel to that rail shooter, but now includes moments on foot and vehicle. Still, i preter virtual pad over accelerometre here. Table Top Racing - was fun game, dunno if all that monetization killed it. Bug Princess 2 aka Mushihimesama Futari. Great manic shooter with different game modes and difficulty settings. Black Label version has a bit different mechanics. Avoid "Bug Princess DUO" which was outsourced to questionable devs. Liberation Maiden - me personally disliked it, but it's pretty quality flying shooter game. Also on 3DS. DoDonPachi Blissful Death aka DaiOuJou - great shmup from Cave, here with different difficulty modes. Doesn't look as bad on iPad as you think, use medium or small playable area setting. RayForce - arcade classic by Taito. Orbital - fun with particles.

PART THREE (see above for reference)(remove 400x_ from picture link to see full size) Monument Valley - very beautiful adventure in world of "impossible" architecture. Eliss Infinity - "touch screen done well". Ok, game is about keeping balance of geometric shapes. Sounds abstract, just play it. Wave Wave - insanity of not getting hit. Needs total self-control. 3D Brick Revolution 2 - nice arkanoid. MiniStarGolf - just look at pic. Inheritage: Boundary of Existence - awesome shmup by indonesian developers. Has visual novel alike cutscenes (skippable) and tied deeply to indonedian mythology and culture in lore. Seems like it's currently available on Android instead. Groove Coaster 2 - for me it's BEST rhythm game on platform. Finally, TAITO's rhythm game!!! Also in ARCADED somewhere in Japan and not. Without purchasing song packs you can unlock decent number of free ones when you level up. Game developed by Space Invaders Infinity Gene authors i guess. Multiponk - really nice pong for hot seat deathmatch. Bubble Ring Fling - simulator of your childhood. Made with love. There is article on HG101 about it. Ark of Sinners Advance - not the best game in the world... But has interesting setting/antagonist and cool combat abilities if clunky controls don't put you off. Also on WiiWare. Space Invaders Infinity Gene - experimental shmup that shows evolution of genre from Space Invaders to more contemporary gameplay styles. Chaos Rings II - gorgeous sequel to lovely jrpg. The World Ends With You - awesome action-rpg about finding your place in socium. I prefer this to Nintendo DS version cause i liked controls here more (i played on iPad. And i nearly killed my fingers in intense battle lol. Also, lossless soundtrack here. Final Fantasy Tactics - even better than PSP version ^^ Ok, and there are other ports of great games like Little Big Adventure, Broken Sword 1-2, The Last Express, The Bard's Tale etc. etc. etc. I may add new suggestions in the future.

I recently started Groove Coaster 2 (I couldn't play it on my old phone) and I like it. Probably the best rhythm game for smartphones. Gameplay-wise isn't something new but it has really nice visuals and presentation and the soundtrack is awesome. After downloading and playing new tracks for first time, you can later play them offline. And the number of free songs is quite generous.

I would be happy if you comment on some games from it. If you would have time/will, of course.
p.s. Yeah, Inheritage pulled off from AppStore forever >< Developers moved to Android.

Yeah, I should be able to find some time to do this. I own a large portion of the games in your list, so it's easily feasible. Just give me some time. And it's a shame about Inheritage. I didn't know it, but your list made me wanna buy it. Seems like my kind of game...

qishmish : a promise is a promise! Some remarks regarding qishmish's games list- Chaos Rings (the series): it had a prominent place in my list, too. So you know there are two guys with different taste reaching a conscensus on this series. Chaos Rings has become synonymous with Tablets. Square really did what we all wanted, by releasing a brand new series, built from scratch for mobiles. It is an experience you can only get on mobile, too. And these are GREAT games. Really a strong argument for Mobiles as gaming platform... - Hi, How are you? : is really relaxing, and a unique experience. The controls are good, and the graphics take you on a trip. Deserves to be on a list! - Mirror's Edge : Back in the day, this was THE game Apple showcased to sell IPads. And they were absolutely right. Like its console big brothers, mirror's Edge has a superb design. As for the game, it is a pure joy from beginning to end. It's a bit of a must-have... - Dead Space: I would be more enthusiastic than you about this game. It is Dead Space in the palm of your hands, after all. And it is really fun. And impressive, too. I like it. - TOMENA Sanner : To buy, or not to buy?... it is 100 percent japanese madness, which is a real big plus in my book. But the game has some issues. First, the loading times are incredibly long; and in the game itself, as soon as you gain some speed, it becomes near impossible to dodge what blocks your way. Still, a unique experience. If it's cheap, then OK, get it, guys! - Terra Noctis : I'm not with you when you say it has "decent" graphics. I think it looks really good, with great pixel art. And it's a good game. - The Cave Shooters : they basically all deserve to be on the list. What you may not realize when you buy them is just how much replay value these games have. I love arcade games, and i bought all the Cave shooters available. People should at least get one 8i may be wrong, but there is a demo for some of them, too! Incredible Pixel art, fantastic HD conversions, these games will never leave your mobile once they're installed! - Liberation Maiden : Yeah... it was made to be played with a stylus. Finger touch is too inexact to enjoy the game. Great game on 3Ds, not so much on Mobiles... - The World Ends With You : is a remarkable conversion of the DS game. It looks perfect, it plays perfect. The theme and ambiance of the game may not be your thing, but that's a shame because the game is great. As you can see, qishmish , I picked some games and tried to give a second opinion on them. I hope it's what you were looking for. And now that this is done, it's my turn to ask you - if you can - to pick games from my list on page 9, and give us a second opinion!

>>did what we all wanted, by releasing a brand new series, built from scratch for mobiles.
Yes! And i was hoping for smth like Chaos Rings from H. Sakaguchi. But NOPE! He made some puzzle which i can't even play in my country.
>>take you on a trip.
Yeah, it's pretty trippy) trip.
>>It is Dead Space in the palm of your hands, after all. I played it first on iPod Touch 2G. Need to replay iPad version which i have in purchased list too (did i bought it too or was that free for a day? huh)
>> I think it looks really good, with great pixel art. I thought it would be bad manner to praise it. But yeah! It's beautiful!
>> Cave Shooters I didn't like controls in Deathsmiles though. So i tried every available demo and got what i liked more.
>> Finger touch is too inexact to enjoy the game. I also don't like point of view though. Would like to zoom out. Also, perspective is strange. Not top down, not "behind the back". It's bizzare mix.
>> the game is great. Yeah one of those apps that made me free space on my 16 gb device
Thanks for comments, Colonel Kurtz! I'll re-read your list and return.

Boulder Dash 30th Anniversary is really good. I also like the new style and new characters and would like to own them in figurine-form if they were sensibly priced.
