Don't have a iphone, if I do I would grab all those Dragon Quest games and Shin Megami Tensei. I cannot say that is worth the price of the platform gaming-wise, I should look into exclusive titles to put on my wishlist someday.

Hundreds, Time Surfer, some Solitaire collection, Simon Tatham Puzzle Collection, and occasionally SpellTower. My phone doesn't get used for gaming very often, though. I'm more likely going to be surfing the net than playing on it.

I'm one of those weirdos who don't have a smartphone. To me they're just for communication, and dont see myself use it much for anything else, let alone playing games.

The games I play the most on my tablet are Bubble Ring Fling (under reccommendation by HG101 itself) and Doctor Who Legacy, not only because Puzzle&Dragons isn't available for download where I live but also because I'm a big (although new) fan of Doctor Who, since the new series began to be aired here on Brazil pretty recently even though many friends of mine are Whovians. Besides them I have some endless runners, Bejeweled Blitz, Sonic 2 and HotD Overkill installed on in (Crazy Taxi works surprisingly well as an endless runner, and CT City Ru$h proves it!).
My family's iPad 2 (yeah, it's outdated, I know) have Space Invaders Infinity Gene, Groove Coaster ZERO and DoDonPaChi Ressurection installed on it, and they all are IMO some of the best fames you can get for smart devices!

I've gotten some good mileage outta Space Invaders: Infinity Gene. Gunman Clyde is also a good one!

A couple of years ago I played Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja and they were fun...for about 5 minutes, I don't play anything like that these days, if I use my phone to kill some time I usually listen to a podcast or whatever. I can understand why these things exist and why people play them, what I can't understand is how they're able to compete direct with real video games, when you get publishers like Konami focusing on that over real video games well....it's absurd to me. It's an economics issue. Selling a million $0.99 in-game purchases are the same as selling 20,000 copies of a $50 blockbuster console title, except the blockbuster cost millions and took 3 years to make while the phone game cost only a fraction of that and was cranked out in two months. They're a cheap, portable alternative to what you'd get on your home systems; it's fast food compared to fine dining. Even the developers seems to have recognized the format's limitations and have begun to pursue adapting mobile to VR (www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNAmAxT7-qs - John Carmack from Oculus on the subject). So to actually get the most out of future mobile games, you'll have to lug around your VR headset, meaning that most people will, quite ironically, be playing them at home. I know I'm kinda beating a dead horse in these threads, but this unfortunate subject keeps coming up.
So in keeping with the topic, I don't play games on my phone.

It's interesting to see how few people in this thread really went into mobile playing, I honestly thought everyone had some quality games they really liked. Then again, if all I had was a smartphone, I guess I wouldn't play much on it either, what with the small screen, controls which obscure your vision of the action, fast draining batteries, etc. I think it's really the fact that I have a tablet which pushes me to invest much more than you all in the format. That and the fact that, for health-related reasons, I often spend a lot of time im my bed.which was what made me buy a tablet in the first place. I play on my IPad, but even though I have games installed on it, I never play on my IPhone. It just doesn't appeal to me. Considering how few people over here seem to have a tablet, I totally understand the lack of interest. Because playing Cave shooters or Chaos Rings 2 or any real interesting title really should, if possible, be done on a tablet. Only then can you really apreciate the graphics and music; your thumbs don't obscure such a big screen; and in the end it becomes this strange quasi-console with great, high quality games both indie or ported from great franchises.
In the end, I guess I am in a privileged position to experience what Konami, Nintendo or Square will release from now on, having an IPas Air 2 with it's Retina display which honestly looks lovely. I am so in love with the Cave ports with their new control scheme and HD remasters, that sometimes I see my IPad as a Cave shooter machine. Those games are good enough for me not regretting buying my Pad, and I played them on my Phone: it's really a sad experience in comparison. I like the waves of classic JRPGs that land on mobile... I can finally play Dragon Quest 8, and even though it is a pretty poor port, it's a pleasure.
If you only have a Phone, I perfectly understand you not even wanting to play on it. You really kind of need a tablet fot it to really become fun, become a valid experience, and an interesting complement to the traditional consoles, handhelds and PC. Than, I can unseratand the success.

I have both a 7" tablet and a 5" smartphone, and I really only play games on the phone. If I'm in a position to play games on the tablet, I'm probably in a position to play games on the PC or console, which I'd generally rather do. As for games I've enjoyed: there are really only two that really grabbed me: Monument Valley (this being one exception that I did play on tablet) And Rayman Jungle Run. Anything else I've tried has been okay, but nothing that makes me want to keep coming back to it. And then there's the games that desperately want to have physical controls, but try to get away with virtual dpad and buttons. Anything like this is an immediate turnoff for me. ... but seriously, I want another game even half as good as Monument Valley

I might want a tablet in the future, because there are some promising looking strategy games whose buttons are just too damn small on my phone, like Rymdkapsel, Spaceward Ho!, and whatever variant I can find of Dice Wars.

I haven't really explored mobile games much; the only platform I really have to access them on is my shitty several-year-old Android phone, which suffers from slowdown when playing Flappy Bird. Maybe someday I'll get a better phone, and look into some mobile exclusives, but it's just not a high priority for me.

There's a lot of PC games that have ports to tablets and phones nowadays and vice versa, too---Shadowrun Returns was initially criticized for having an interface that was terrific for the tablet port but poor for PC. Harebrained Schemes made it more PC-friendly in Dragonfall and ironically I think they're confining Shadowrun: Hong Kong purely to PC/Mac/Linux. Either they had a preexisting audience on PCs and decided to conserve their efforts for maximum payoff or else the mobile market just isn't as surefire a winner as developers think. You tell me. \o/

I play mostly escape-the-room games. They adapt well enough to the format.

I picked up the iOS port of the original Shin Megami Tensei, but it was really more of a show of support than to actually play the thing. That kind of game really isn't conducive to a touch interface.

The problem I have with phone games well the most I stuck at is when my android tablet had to be replaced they was no way to back up the games save file so I lost all progress. Some i Fully unlocked everything on such as Hungry Shark Evo 2 that was almost Feeding frenzy crossed with metroid. Only thing I never could do in the game was beat the optional Giant enemy crab boss. Lost my character unlocks on sonic dash and Dr who Legacy because at the time they was no way to back up the saves. The only game that i did not lose my save file was on was Dead trigger because it had a free cloud save feature. Though i unlocked all the best stuff on that game. The grenade launcher is the best weapon nearly kills everything in one hit. Never bothered with the sequel though had way to much scammy free to play crap in it which you could ignore in the original.
I did not know Dr who Legacy was a Puzzle & Dragons clone for a while because for some dumb reason they never made Puzzle & Dragons available for Android in Europe. Though I got the 3DS version of Puzzle & Dragons so no need for the android version.
My fourth most viewed youtube video is the final boss and ending of Band of Monsters a dragon Quest Monsters clone by Kemco. That game has some rather harsh difficulty spikes in places and a out of place cursing though it looks like the micro transactions was put in as a after though and you cant really use them to make the game any easier and there not shoving them in your face anywhere either.
Some phone games are to lazy to even have a ending they is not even a well done screen or anything for 100% beating every level on Pac man dash. Regular show ghoster toasters was like this too. Though one thing I think weird about the phone Regular show games is they have all the shows voice casts yet the 3DS game on the show had none at all and was worse too.
Another things that bugs me is some game are not compatible with my Tablet thats just over year and half old. It makes no sense that my Tablet can run Telltales game of thrones yet can not run a simple 2D One Piece puzzle game.
Though ive got plenty of good games on my Archos gamepad 2 which I bought for emulation but use as much for non emulated games.Never spend a penny on any thing for the device because amazons Android store is always giving out plenty of decent games for free.Though I have no smart phone or any phone just a Tablet.

I have an 8-inch Android tablet where I do most of my mobile gaming. The two games I play the most are Spirit Stones, from a Korean company, and Terra Battle.
Spirit Stones is a puzzle/TCG grindfest. Match-three with combo blocks and skills. I don't really recommend it; I feel it's approaching its finale and it gets few updates and events. Plus, it can get quite repetitive. I only play it because I want to try to finish all stages - I'm not that far from it, but it's taking too long.
Terra Battle is from the studio of Final Fantasy's creator. Gameplay is fun and a bit strategic. It also has a very good balance for being free-to-play, but progress across the story does feel a bit slow. I really like the music and the art - the latter is not quite the typical manga/anime aesthetic. I suggest you try it if you want to get a taste of good mobile gaming.
I also played School Idol Festival for a while. It's a rhythm game (based on an idol anime), and that makes the F2P part interesting - it's not so much about which characters you have, it's more about your skill. It was fun, but I feel that one free-to-play mobile game is more than enough - guess what three is?
