Damn, missed the Steam sale for Championship Edition DX. Really cannot recommend that game highly enough to anyone who's even remotely interested in classic gaming. Yeah, I couldn't agree more. If you fancy yourself a retro and/or hardcore classic gamer, this is basically a must have. It completely reinvents the gameplay. And Championship and Championship DX play differently, too (DX adds bombs, sleeping ghosts and slowdown in tight spots). Differently enough that the two games end up playing completely differently, and are complementary to each other.DX is not a "more of everything" sequel, it really offers another take on the gameplay. (Personally I prefer Championship to DX).

By far the best Pac-Man game was the Super version.
Giant Pac-Man FTW!

By far the best Pac-Man game was the Super version. Giant Pac-Man FTW! Yeah, I mean, what other Pac-Man game basically encourages you to smash through locked doors like some giant disc-shaped Kool-Aid Man?

By far the best Pac-Man game was the Super version. I still have a soft spot for Ms. Pac-Man,probably because was the first Pac-game I've played. In the meantime, they announced a new game called Pac-Man 256;it's yet another endless runner for smartphones, but at least this time the premise seems intriguing.

I didn't know there was any derision to him being in Smash. I was pretty excited as he's like my favorite mascot. I was at one point going to even get a tattoo of Pac-Man. But Happy Birthday I guess to one of the finest games ever made.

Pac Man is the oldest game that I love, a classic. ! No love for Space Invaders or Galaxian? They're still great to play today.

! No love for Space Invaders or Galaxian? They're still great to play today. Alas no, for me. The single shot invader games are just a bit too simple for my tastes. Too long waiting for that next shot... Now Galaga, that I can get behind. Lol I sometimes feel like I'm the only galaxian fan on Earth! But truth be said, it's a nostalgia thing, my older brother and I always played Galaxian in the same hotel lobby while on holidays.... Plus Galaxian is already pretty sophisticated compared to Space Invaders. But yeah, single shot games, and here I'm really only talking about Galaxian, are masters of tension... Will the long shot you tried land juuust fast enough for you to save yourself from the kamikaze on collision course with you by shooting it basically one pixel away from hitting you? Great tension. And of course, awesome nostalgia. I miss my big bro, bastard idiot went to Rio to work for the next Olympics... Regarding Galaxian and the single shot issue, the absolutely awesome Galaga 30th collection on mobiles has a fantastic solution: full-auto shoot, but that needs to be (quickly, thankfully) recharged. The game's rythm is accelerated accordingly, and all the game in the series are represented. The results are most game-changing with Galaxian (starts at 2:20), but the whole collection is genius and not far from doing for the series what Pac-Man Championship Edition did for the yellow munching man. It's a complete must-have and is only available on mobiles. Plays like a dream.

I bought the DLC and it is cool, especially the new courses. But the game is also excellent without them.
