I own the first Game Boy one. Never managed to complete it, but it's a pretty fun game, and the music is spectacular. Sunsoft really had something going on during that period, releasing a couple of great decidedly arcade-style games, but I guess they never really made the jump to 16 bit. At least I can't say I know any 16 bit game of theirs that was more than "pretty good".
Good article, too, although I'm kinda puzzled why you'd call Return Of The Joker on the Game Boy a "throwaway", as the write-up on the game itself paints it in a rather favourable light.

Well, the full quote is "From a throw-away Game Boy cash in that ended up being fun thanks to SunSoft's talent", so it's essentially saying they turned what should have just been a generic Batman game into something quality.

The first NES Batman from Sunsoft had the best Game Over theme ever.
Who else agrees with me?

I would place Total Distortion's You Are Dead over it.
But it is a good one.

That game over theme is really good, it was rare to have an actual game over SONG and not just a quick thing on non-Euro video games.

My favorite song in the soundtrack is still the song from the freeze frame in the prototype ending. "Oh no! It's you!" Good article as always. You may want to mention something about the licensing situation though - Nintendo's third party requirements almost prevented the Genesis version from being released here (and those shady importer companies that advertised in the backs of EGM definitely took advantage of it).

My favorite track for the first NES game is definitely for level four, so awesome. That level in general is really really cool even compared to the rest of the game, there's like three entire tile sets worth of NES action game level in that one area, it's crazy.

Well, Batman certainly fared much better than Supes, who only got crappy games and some average at best.

I love the whole soundtrack, but my legit favorite is the second stage theme in the US/first in the Japanese version. It's fun to sing along to and make up lyrics. As for Superman games, he's gotten shafted for the most part aside from the Taito game. The Sunsoft Genesis game is a guilty pleasure of mine, though, and I love the soundtrack to it.

Death and Return of Superman? I can't even, I mean, Rambeau?

Death and Return of Superman? I can't even, I mean, Rambeau? Nah, the 1992 one where everything kills Superman. Everything.

Sunman's a pretty decent game, even if it's unfinished. The Superman version's too early in development to actually finish, unfortunately.
Man, I swear Batman on the NES wasn't supposed to be a Batman game. Sunsoft were great at making supposedly licensed games that had absolutely crap all to do with their license. Say, Fester's Quest, for example.
