A movie with Adam Sandler as a producer and main character? Nope! Why should we waste money and time (or just time in case of piracy...ahem!) on a movie we don't want to watch? Unless we are movie critics or something. Well if you really feel that passionately against this movie, then avoid it indeed! For me, I love video games, and there's not alot of movies about video games out there, so I'll give it a chance. While that's understandable to a point, that kind of attitude is how movies like Biker Boyz and Soul Plane end up getting made. Just because an underrepresented minority has a movie coming out, that doesn't mean people who are part of that minority have to see it. It should be a GOOD movie.

Soul Plane is like a proto-Madea movie.

Anyone going to see this movie? Wreck it Ralph was a video game movie and now this is coming up. Aliens invade Earth using weapons based on characters from early video game series (mainly from the arcades) and only Adam Sandler can save us all. Looks good but Adam Sandler is in it so it might not do so well with critics. Also for some reason I can't help but feel like this is in some way is kind of like Ghostbusters-influenced (not by the Pac Man part I mean.)

It had better have Sinistar in it.

I've not really been a fan of Sandler's work, so concept aside, I'm not sure this is going to be the sort of film for me.

I love the concept, but I don't care for Adam Sandler, so I'm conflicted about if I want to see it or not.

I think we've grown past this extra-media validation phase at this point? Like cinema was this cool, aloof big brother and now he's the burnt-out wacky uncle that does that "you got something on your shirt" gag ad nauseum.
You shouldn't feel ambivalent; indifference is more apt.

I feel similarly to many of you; I don't care for Sandler's work at all. But I kind of hope that this movie could be good despite him? Peter Dinklage is in it, too, and he looks funny in it.

I was never impressed with Wreck-it Ralph (Scott Pilgrim does a much better job as a video games-themed movie) and I never liked Adam Sandler's movies.

The animation for the video game creatures looks cool, but the presence of Sandler/James indicates that it will probably be pretty bad.
I've noticed that the advertising here seems to deemphasizes Sandler's presence. He's been critical poison (if not exactly box office poison) and I think the marketing people are aware that the general nerd opinion of Sandler is somewhere between annoyance and loathing.

I like Sandler's early stuff (Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, his comedy CDs), but his modern work is just terrible. Actually a lot of comedy films over the years don't interest me that much. They try too hard.
I'll still give this a chance when I rent it because I like the concept.
