Since we are speaking of recent cartoons, i really like Star vs. the Forces of Evil and Wonder Over Yonder...damn i wish that Wonder had managed to get one more season.
But seriously, if people are checking recent cartoons, i also recommend those two cartoons, though i think Wonder gets better after the first few episodes.

Looks like the new season of MST3K will be tackling Starcrash and Reptilicus among others.

I watched the two new Samurai Jack episodes released so far and all I can say is that they were outstanding. There's a perfect balance between setting a darker tone than the older seasons while keeping faithful to the show's roots. I don't think I will ever get used to Aku's new voice though...

You know what's weird? I remember watching the Samurai Jack premiere, the one that was sort of like a movie and really enjoying it, but I just didn't keep up with the TV series for some reason, I watched a handful of episodes and that's about it and I don't know why. It may have been just the age I was I guess, I stopped watching it around when I turned 13 and when you're that age you feel like you should set "kids cartoons" aside, I started watching Adult Swim, which felt more "appropriate" and pretty much stopped watching regular CN for a while. But by 2005 I lightened up on that and watched Megas XLR and Teen Titans, but by that point Samurai Jack was already over. So my point is the Adult Swim miniseries looks super cool, but I need to go back and watch the original TV series, so it could be a while, but it's definitely something I'd like to see.

Legion. I really like this take on the character as well as deciding not to dive into the superhero side of X-Men. Really cool so far. I was just thinking of posting about that. XD I like the show, though it is a bit too non-linear for my tastes at times. The actor who plays David is really good. <3

He's whats kept me invested when things go a little crazy. This weeks episode really pulled things together though.

Would seem like a really tough character to get right. I tuned to watch the usual Fox X-trainwreck. And after 17 years, they seemed to have finally got something right. They treat it very well without over doing the mutant side of him, focusing more on the human.

Daredevil's blatant advocacy of torture makes me sick to my stomach!
The show has other problems, too: almost every character is a living stereotype and yet the show desperately tries to appear serious and relatively realistic - which horribly clashes with the core "pulp hero" concept. Say what you will about both the cinematic Daredevil and Elektra - those are certainly not very good movies. But at least they are campy enough that can I find them somewhat enjoyable.
It's a shame, because not everything about the show is bad: I generally like the expressionistic lighting during the night scenes, some of the martial arts sequences are quite engaging and even the characters like Foggy can occasionally be interesting to watch (at least more interesting than the one-dimensional, self-righteous asshole that Matt Murdock sadly is).

Walking Dead, anti-climactic. Dragging on.
Top Gear - This season is much better, much more focused show than the previous season. Matt Leblanc is very likeable, and a nice counterpoint to Chris Harris. The past few episodes with Sabine added to the mix makes the other performance segments fun.

I gave up on Walking Dead. Plodding and depressing, yet unrelatable.
Mostly I just watch Bob's Burgers and whatever cop/medical/legal drama my wife is into.

Finally watched American Horror Story: Roanoke. It's interesting how a lot of horror stuff tries to be more down to earth and back to the roots. The new Blair Witch being true to the simple found footage stuff of the first one, RE7 being just a guy fighting mutant-rednecks at their house... and so Roanoke kinda does the same in aping fake reality TV. Several of it, actually. The first five episode is a documentary on a couple which bought a colonial house and got attacked by Roanoke ghosts (and canibal rednecks), while the next four episodes are a Big Brother style reunion of the interviewed "real" people and the cast of actors who played them on the show... at that house, so naturally more shit goes down... while also being found footage. It's all pretty barebones stuff, no super crazy things or impossible spectacle, just people being affraid, screaming, running, and eventually getting deaded. The first arc could be a bit more exciting, the more brutal second one I enjoyed more. With only 10 episodes and only 40 minutes each it certainly is breezier than the previous seasons. I do like that this one is more coherent, tho. And if you found the Gaga overbearing in Hotel, rest assured her character here just runs across the screen every other episode and that's it, you wouldn't take anything away with cutting her short appearences alltogether.

New MST3K. Watched Reptilicus last night. The new crew takes some getting used to but I liked it. You can definitely tell that Joel wrote a lot of the stuff given how dry it comes across. Hope it stays good.
