First Dwarf Fortress, now Crusader Kings? Excellent.
In many ways, Crusader Kings is very comparable to Dwarf Fortress and even Sims. There are no goals apart from the one's that player sets to himself, there's tons of characters with different personalities and the game gives you plenty of option to be either kind or cruel to any of them. And like in Dwarf Fortress, its surprisingly easy to lose everything. Another good description for the game is that its like Hamlet or Richard III in video game form.
I'd totally recommend the sequel to anyone who's interested in a more complicated game, but the fact that there's so much DLC is bit of a problem. On its own Crusader Kings is 40€ and about 10€ when its on sale. If you want all the DLC that packs gonna cost 144€, and the latest DLC Horse Lords is not included. Even on sale the whole pack is nearing 50€. It was much more easier to chew when I jumped in around the time the pack was 20€ and I've grabbed the later DLC's every now and then.
One of the things I like about Paradox's games is the save game importing. After you finish CK2 you can import your savegame and continue the game with the same map on Europe Universalis 4 and after thats over you can import the map to Hearts of Iron 4, once thats out that is. Even the original allowed to do that, from CK to EU3 to Victoria 2 to HOI3. Its a one massive game of alternative history.

Wow. Finnally, strategy games are coming to HG 101!Very nice! I played Crusader Kings II on a friends computer, but only long enough to barely grasp how everything works. I was fascinated by it, because I never played anything similar before...
