Wee, another article I wrote went up!
And this is seriously one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

I've played Technobabylon back in june and I pretty much agree with the review. This game is without a doubt one of Wadjet Eye's finest offerings and is a perfect showcase of what they can do with the AGS, altough I'd like to see them using a proprietor engine in the future.

Great adventure, especially in its world-building (both through visuals and dialogue). Only objection I have on the article is when it says that the Mindjacker has killed "hundreds" of people: while certainly there were uncertainties on whether some murders were by him or not, I don't remember a body count this high being stated.

Just a little thing: Technocrat Games is pretty much just James Dearden, and Wadjet Eye Games' art team is really just Ben Chandler. Saying "team" and "group" isn't wrong, but I think mentioning these folks by name would be good in order to give proper credit.

Only objection I have on the article is when it says that the Mindjacker has killed "hundreds" of people: while certainly there were uncertainties on whether some murders were by him or not, I don't remember a body count this high being stated. It's mentioned in the second chapter that the mindjacker has killed a mess of people worldwide. I didn't want to go in further detail and explain that it was probably several mindjackers, though, because it's kind of a spoiler to the big endgame plan of the main antagonist. The game makes it vague enough to suggest other possibilities, especially with the whole Central plot, so explaining the mindjacker further wouldn't really work. Also, this was not a game made by just two people. Both main developers involved work with a lot of other talents, so it's more a team effort than a single guy doing most all the work. Thus, I named their given company names (Ben even has his Twitter named after Wadjet Eye instead of himself).

Just two people definitely did not make this game and I'm not saying to give credit to just two people. I'm saying that breaking down the mentions a bit further (ie Ben Chandler's artwork, James Dearden's writing, etc.) would a good thing to do for the developers. Wadjet Eye exists within this in-between area between indie and professional, but the teams are always small enough to list names. Ben's twitter handle is @ben_304, also.

Just up in the newest Humble Bundle, for just $1 you can get it, Odallus: The Dark Call and Chroma Squad, both as Steam keys and DRM-Free downloads. One of the best bundle deals to date IMO.
