Nah, you only claim once you finish. Otherwise, we'd have a lot of non-attempts because someone gave up a game they said they'd finish and forgot to tell everyone. But good luck. I'm working on Still Life myself. Oh, I see. Well hopefully I become the first person to beat it. Thank you

This sounds like a neat idea, and one could decide to compare their statistics against others on the forum (although that doesn't really interest me much).
Anyway, I beat Mercenaries Saga 2 today, so I guess I'll start the list off? I'd replay the last chapter to take a screenshot of the staff roll, but I overwrote the file with clear data, so that's not really posisble now... >.<

I'll take your word for it.
Also, if you could bold the names of the games you finished, that will help a lot when I keep tally.

I do have this as far as screenshots/images go. Anyway, since there's a rule for the game's slot going to the first person that completed it, are there any exceptions for games that are mostly the same like Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow? I'm asking since FE: Fates has two versions like that, and it's probably better to use some foresight.

They're different enough to count as separate games.

Alrighty this is awesome. I am following in my friend Aoi footsteps and doing a 52 games in 52 weeks challenge for 2016. Does the game have to have been started and finished in 2016? Or as long as when we beat it it was 2016? I'll list what I've beaten so far 1. Golden Axe 2. Golden Axe 2 3. Golden Axe 3 *These are inside a title called Sega Vintage Collection Golden Axe, if you only want to count those 3 as 1 game for this purpose that is okay. But it is technically 3 separate games 4. Rise of the Tomb Raider - Started it at the end of December but just finished beating it tonight 83% complete in the first playthrough too

Senran Kagura Burst
Finished up the story missions for both the Hanzo and Hebijo schools. I'm still going to work on the extra missions, but I think this is enough to at least consider it beaten. Great game, by the way.

I want no part of the "Leaderboard" Challenge, but I don't mind using this thread for mentioning if I manage to finish anything (whether it be short or significant) this year.
I did open up the year playing through 3 beat-em-ups.
X-Men (Konami) Guardian Heroes Phantom Breaker : Battleground

Run Saber (SNES) finished on normal mode. Played on Snes9x. This guys is harder than any boss in the game and you need to fight him 3x I think. Looks like a a boss from Contra. Last boss again looks like it's ripped from Super Contra. Commit mass genocide to save a little girl...

Congrats! I've had Run Saber in my collection for years, but have only tried it like once in the past. I should go back and play it again. EDIT: I started Red Faction II. I've heard it's like a five-hour game, so it'll probably take me twelve hours to beat

Thanks! It's a bland game, but it's playable. I may replay it again on Hard just for the heck of it.

I've already done one for the year. I'd been meaning to dig into Initial D on the Saturn for a while, but a first go and a horrible control experience put me off. Well, I dug it back out and blew through Story Mode. And it was just as dreadful as the first time I played it. Don't get me wrong, it's a horrible, horrible game. Some of the worst controls of the era. But something inside kept me compelled, and I made my way past every rival and beat Bunta. Every track looks the same - the same textures, the same everything. The music is dreadful too - only the vocal track in the credits was decent. But my curiosity is satiated now, and it's on my 'been there, done that, never going back again' list
