I don't think either of you have anything to apologize for There's nothing wrong with what either of you did. It's not like it's the first time that a thread on this forum ended up deviating away from the main topic in some way The last time Konami cared about there arcade history was Microsofts Gameroom which in general was a mess and lots of games had sound problems like scooter shooter having no music what so ever and yie ar kunf fu having sound problems despite the fact the standalone XBLA version made years before it did not. They was the only Japanese company to put games on the service and the only one to put games made after 1984 on it.Pop n twinbee was pretty much the most recent game on it since sunset riders was announced but never came out. I can not really blame Konami over Gameroom though alot of its games had problems and just because the developer Krome was in trouble and microsoft never tried to help them out so the product was left buggy and could hard crash the system if you put items in your arcade which was never fixed. They also kept posting on facebook saying it was going to get new games after the final pack but it never did and microsoft deleted the entire gameroom forum area a few months later. I'm so sad about how Game Room turned out. Its execution was bad, but I loved the concept, and really appreciated being able to discover cool games through it like Major Havoc and Hyper Crash and M.I.A. Missing in Action and the like. I was really, really looking forward to Sunset Riders... but it never happened. I really want to play it, but the arcade version has still never been officially rereleased, and the Super NES/Genesis versions are steadily growing more and more expensive. Dang.

The last interesting thing Konami did IMO outside of releasing the Phantom Pain was coming out with Otomedius Excellent...and that game sucked IMO. Just no, not that I have a problem with the girls being depicted but rather how the game played (especially with that invisible boss timer BS and poorly made boss battles).

Hideki Hayakawa = The Piccolo Daimao of gaming in Japan.
Instead of #fuckkonami, it should be #fuckhayakawa.

Konami is a lost cause, just let it go...
I knew from Silent Hill Homecoming that Konami was in trouble, any publisher that would allow something like to happen to one of their series is not a publisher that is run well.

I knew from Silent Hill Homecoming that Konami was in trouble, any publisher that would allow something like to happen to one of their series is not a publisher that is run well. I honestly thought Konami was okay before they went 180 in game making; I mean they had an upcoming game that was going to sell well and another that would have too given that the other game had a big name and was highly anticipated for a while (Silent Hills in case you ask). But then Konami pulled the plug on that game and well it deserves to be hated.
Oh well, the least we can do is reminisce what awesome IPs they could have been working on instead of that Erotic Violence, Hit the Lever s##t.

They had that internet survey a couple years ago. ....about as much came out of it as Game Arts' (Nothing). Not true; the recent release of Grandia II on Steam came about as a result of Game Arts' survey. Wasn't that because of GungHo Online Entertainment that is now Game Art's parent company?

To be fair, how many Japanese game companies have been doing well since this last generation of consoles? The whole industry seems like it's largely on life support right now, which is a tragedy to someone like me, who grew up playing their games, and still holds games to the standard I've come to expect from Japanese titles. In any case, it's just a shame to think we'll likely never hear of a new Metal Gear, Castlevania, Contra, or Violent Storm unless it's something you can play on your cell phones.

For me its one reason to hate the state of gaming today; mobile games will always suck ass to me perhaps even more so than a decade ago. That and some companies actin' shady these days, especially that one company I mentioned earlier.

You know... there's a lot of easy internet jokes and hate about Konami just making pachislot machines of their old franchises, but I gotta be serious: I'd play the HELL out of a Metal Gear or Castlevania slot machine. I live in Vegas, I hit the slots every week or so, drop $20. Konami has some extremely popular slots out here, but nothing appealing to me, yet. If they make a machine like the Batman ones, or the Star Trek ones, or the old Star Wars one (Deathstar bonus spin, so hype), I'd be as excited to play it as any console game o.o

I guess I'd try it for curiosity's sake, but I don't know that I'd feel the same level of enthusiasm as you

Best way I could sum up the experience... cept you'd get your money back in that situation. o.o

Konami put a metric fuckton of classics into the vault, and that's after they killed Hudson.
they were my favorite 3rd party growing up, but now? fuck konami. at least they had the decency to change their logo & let you know not to expect that quality anymore.

My favorite console Konami franchise, Castlevania, was already dead years before the big debacle last year. But it definitely feels like they are now making zero effort to preserve legacy console and arcade games via re-releases/collections. Luckily for me, the BEMANI franchise is still going strong in arcades at least (so thankful for Round1 USA).
