The fact that Landstalker still doesn't have a full HG101 article is kind of baffling

A project to cover this and all of its quasi-related games (Ladystalker, Time Stalkers, Alundra, Steal Princess, Dark Savior) was always something I wanted to do. Maybe someday!

Wait there are more than just Landstalker and Alundra?

Well considering Timestalkers... Yeah! Thats all that's worth worrying about, heh.
I heard of Ladystalkers (thats an unfortunate title) but thought that was it. I have some reading to do it seems. Still haven't gotten to Landstalker yet.

I think Donkey Kong (GB) got placed where it deserved. I had to have been aware of it, as I read my Nintendo Powers cover-to-cover, but it just never piqued my interest as SNES > GameBoy. On a lark, I gave it a whirl in emulation a few years ago, and I was astonished at how good and long it was! This is also, to my knowledge, the only port of Donkey Kong that contains the Pie Factory level, which is a huge plus.
If Link's Awakening or Kirby didn't exist, I might consider this the best original GameBoy title. It's certainly up there, and aptly illustrates the understated potential of that tiny little handheld console.

Wait there are more than just Landstalker and Alundra? Well, technically none of them are related to each other, in the sense that they're sequels, but they're all by the same developer (except Alundra 2) and they share some commonalities. Lady Stalker is weird because it looks like Landstalker but plays much differently...there are random battles and you can't actually jump, IIRC.

Also, I don't know how many virgins did you sacrifice to summon Kim Justice to your podcast, but it was delightful.
Still dreaming to see Jeremy Parish as a special host though, would make for a killer NES/GB-centric episode. And it's not out of realm of possibility either - he referenced HG101 quite a few times in his projects, so he seems to be at least a dedicated lurker c:

I just checked the list as it currently stands, and holy shit. Katamari Damacy is currently 2nd place, ahead of Super Mario Bros. 3 zomg. The only Katamari game I've really played is Beautiful Katamari on the 360. It was pretty fun, yeah. Maybe I should check out the original game someday. I do have it as a digital download on my PS3...

The original Katamari is definitely the best. The sequels add interesting things here and there, but the purity of the first game helps it stand out even after all these years.

A pretty bizarre placement, really. As a game, it's more of a novelty (a highly addictive and entertaining novelty, but nowhere as compelling and well-rounded in its gameplay as Doom, Mario 3 or Lode Runner), and as a cultural phenomenon, while certainly popular and recognizable, it's not an uber-huge thing either. I guess the main point of defense is that other top-tier games in the list feel a bit more dated and undeveloped compared to Katamari, but yeah, I'll wait for Friday to hear explanation to this

I think the game definitely deserves top ten.

Come to think of it, I've always been sorta perplexed at how high Lode Runner is on the list. The only Lode Runner game I've ever played is Battle Lode Runner for the PC Engine, and... I mean, it seemed okay, I guess. I didn't particularly care for the gameplay, though. I found it more boring than anything.

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense to me, either. I guess an argument could be made for how it was an important title in the early days of gaming, but something tells me that it isn't something people play or even want to play very often.
