A pretty bizarre placement, really. As a game, it's more of a novelty (a highly addictive and entertaining novelty, but nowhere as compelling and well-rounded in its gameplay as Doom, Mario 3 or Lode Runner), and as a cultural phenomenon, while certainly popular and recognizable, it's not an uber-huge thing either. I guess the main point of defense is that other top-tier games in the list feel a bit more dated and undeveloped compared to Katamari, but yeah, I'll wait for Friday to hear explanation to this I'd rather be stuck on a deserted island with only Katamari Damacy over Lode Runner. I think the game definitely deserves top ten. Well, I can see that, and I don't have anything against it being in top ten, but would you also prefer it over SMB3 or Doom on same metaphorical deserted island, coming to think of it? That's what I find bizarre about this placement - I just don't see it being second best game ever. But again, the placement is completely subjective objective and scientifically accurate, and the game is good either way, so I don't complain much, hehe

The gameplay is great, rolling up animals and people is hysterical, the soundtrack and sound effects are fantastic. Now would I rather have only Katamari Damacy or Super Mario World? That is the real question!

Dogs Bower and King of All Cosmos going on a bender actually made me lol. That was a really fun review.

So, if Windjammers is Pong updated for the future...what is the equivalent for Space Invaders?

So, if Windjammers is Pong updated for the future...what is the equivalent for Space Invaders? Any of the multitude of Space Invaders sequels they released, I guess. Super Space Invaders, Space Invaders '95, Space Invaders for PS1, Space invaders: Invasion Day Space Invaders Evolution, take your pick.

I'm a particular fan of Space Invaders Extreme for DS/PSP. It takes the formula and adapts it into a sort of color-matching puzzle game almost, rewarding combos and accurate shooting with multipliers and Rez-like synchronized sound and music.

Shinobi III is the only game I know that has an emergency "explode yourself" button to continue the level without returning back to a checkpoint. Is that Bower-esque enough?

Here's a hot take for you all - I think Mega Man Legends is more playable and has better controls than Metal Gear Solid. I had no idea Superman 64 had multiplayer, by the way. That story reminds me of how when I was at Comic-Con in 2009, Capcom had a Spyborgs demo station for the Wii, which had 2 controllers set up. I went over to it, and no one else was around to play using the other controller, so I couldn't proceed in the game as a result. Eventually, a Capcom person walked over and adjusted the in-game options to set the second player to AI, so then I could play it. I didn't see anyone else come up to play the game.

If you want to see what Superman 64's multiplayer looks like, here you go:
Incidentally, I want to point out that if I was there, I would have ranked Superman higher than what it got. Probably above Amagon, at the very least. I mean, say what you want about Superman 64, but it doesn't contain any creepy rants about the programmer's sexual tastes, (that we know of) so it beats Super Monkey Daibouken on that front. It's an original work, not a reskin, so it beats Eek The Cat in that department. And it definitely doesn't constantly emit ear-piercing screeches, so it firmly beats Cavens of Khafka.
You gotta look out for the silver linings, people.

Oh yeah, Nerdybat, Revenge of Shinobi had the same Ninjitsu where you murder yourself to gain an advantage. See, silver linings!

I think you guys forgot that there was a Pilotwings game on the 3DS I've never played a single game in the series though, so I can't comment on how that compares with the other two.
